9 year old killed for father's gang ties

This story bothers me more than anything that I have heard this year. Why kill this boy for his father's sins? Why lure him into an alley and then shoot him like a dog? Worse than a dog because you would only shoot a dog once. Forget about the fact that you have no respect for human life, but this was a child. He hasn't even begun to live yet. There's a special place in hell for people who harm children. I truly believe that.
Police say the child was targeted because of his father's gang ties and a string of shootings between rival gangs. A basketball the boy often carried to and from school was found near his body.
