We have a cute visitor , my two month old grandnephew!
The baby is now the center of our attention. Every one at home is excited. We don’t want to do anything anymore but stay beside baby and enjoy him as much as we could. Each of us wants to cuddle, kiss and caress him. He is so cute specially when he smiles.
Are you fond of babies? I know a wife who does not want to bear a child so she is taking birth control pills. Instead of having her own babies, she keeps adopting cats. Would you prefer cat over a baby of your own?

I loved my babies and would choose babies over cats. My daughter never wanted children, she is a Sociologist and felt the world is too over crowded. She chose a life without children and that is her right. She has a dog and two cats, a beautiful man in her life and a dream job and lots of friends with and without children. I think she is amazing. She loves her life.

I am a cat lover, but be sure a baby at home is much more important and meaningful. The home will be full of noise with a baby. When the baby smiles, he/she is like an angel. If he/she cries, he/she is like a devil This is how I felt when my child was a baby. Now I miss that period because he was just so tiny at that time.

@salonga I remember when my child was a baby, he cried out loudly. Once he slept on the bed, he would cry. At that time my husband would go out with him and he slept quietly outside. And my husband just held him under our building. After several hours he thought our baby must sleep well. Then he returned home. But when our baby heard the lift sound, he would open his eyes I didn't know how we survived those days

There are a few women who just aren't ready to have children. I had my daughter very young and after this I didn't want anymore children. I sort of looked at it that I was glad I had her when I did because maybe I would never of had a baby ever. I don't know but it is a big responsibility and takes a lot of work. Some people just aren't ready for this one. I guess being young and growing up together with my daughter made it easier on me. But if I didn't have her when I did I am not sure I would of had a baby ever. I don't know why but I guess this is just the way I felt on this one.

I think it is a wise idea to stop bearing when you know it would be very hard for you to tackle again the great responsibility involve in raising another one.

@poehere You are a woman who knows what is exactly is best for you and your child. Congrats! If only every woman should use their brain and think ahead just as you do before bearing another one. I've seen a lot of unattended children, lacking in almost everything just because their parents bear child one after the other.

@salonga My life, work, and moving like my daughter and I did got me thinking about this a long time back. There was no way I could handle 2 children and my work alone. Let alone take the child with me where we were assigned to work. I was better off with one child and this is how it ended up. I am so happy I have here and this is all I need.

It was asked in the Ms. Universe contest which was held in our country that time. We were then having a swimming party in my Boss's house but we stopped the swimming just to watch the pageant. The title was won by Ms. Sushmita Sen of India. I remember that part of her answer to the question is " ...the origin of a child is a mother, and is a woman"...something to that effect if my memory does not fail me.

Some people are not keen on taking on responsibilities of taking care of another human being even their own child so they have pets instead.. But who resist those sweet smiles of a human baby! .. your grandnephew is gorgeous!!

Now that I am older, I can only take babies in small doses. It's always great that I can give them back to the parents. Pets are more loyal and respectful, in the long run. Not that babies are disrespectful, it's just what they grow up to be.

I used to believe also that pets are more loyal because my dogs are very loyal but you know my neighbor who is already on old woman was bitten by her only cat who even sleeps on her bosom like her own child. One bed time, she looked for her cat so they could sleep. She saw the cat sitting on the window sill. So she came near and pick up the cat. But the cat, just attacked her. So the ending, she was hospitalized. What provoked the cat is still unknown up to this time.

@Pattitude She was seriously hurt, and so her children convinced her to just remove that cat from her home and she agreed. She should because the anti-rabies injection is very expensive apart from the pain.
No one in the neighborhood knows how their sweet relationship turned that way. Maybe the cat was then sensing a mouse and would not want to be disturbed in her mission to kill that mouse. Nobody really knows, we could only guess.

@salonga That is strange! I guess the cat was not ready for bed! I hope the lady was not seriously hurt.

Loving your own babies is great but loving the children who aren't your own is greater. God bless your good heart.

I can feel your joy with your grandnephew! We're like that too when there is a baby in the house. And because our 6 kids are now grown ups, we borrow babies from friends & neighbors! Ha! Ha! Ha! BTW, our family love cats (kittens, dogs & puppies), but we will never trade a baby with any of our pets.

Cats are far less trouble than children. They are also much less expensive.

So I think it is also my friend's reason why she would rather take are of cats than have a baby.
