I hope your mom will give you more encouragement. Nobody is born to be a professional chef. If you are interested in cooking, you will learn it fast. I didn't cook at all in the past. But later when I lived alone, I started to cook for myself and I enjoyed cooking. I often read cooking books and watch cooking TV shows. I also learn it via the net. Today I can say I am good at cooking

Cooking is easy if you really love.
I myself always feel like im in a cooking contest because my mom always commenting to what i cooked..but then negative comments makes me the urge to cook better.
So i can say that im a better cook now :)
Just use negative comments into something good...
You can do it....
