Cold Enough for Ya?

It's starting to get cold enough that we need to put a fire on in the morning. Today is rainy and gray. I am trying to gear myself up to go out and rake up some leaves. I'll be fine as long as I put on enough clothes, but I'm procrastinating. I need to cover my garden with leaves. I should have done it yesterday, but I can't be thinking of what I should have done, but rather what I can do right now.
Do you ever live your life backwards, or are you a positive person who focuses on what you can do right now?

Oh no I can see I won't fit in well now. Your winter is arriving and our summer is coming. You will be saying how cold it is and I might be saying how hot it is. I am lucky our winter just passed and here we still walk around bare footed and wearing shorts in the middle of our winter. In the evening it does get a little bit cooler and you might find at this time we have put on a pair of pants. But still no shoes.

@poehere so it means you're in the southern hemisphere, but i didn't know you have winter. i thought our climate was similar, which is sun and rain (wet and dry). although we're just above the equator, we also experience slightly shorter daylight and cooler nights from december to february.

@GardenGerty Please come. I have an office above my kitchen that I have a nice bed type couch in that you would love. You will wake up to the sound of the river, cocks crowing and when you step out on the terrace you can look over and see the lagoon. You might never want to go back once you spend some time here on the islands.

Oops! It keeps raining which makes the leaves hard to manage. It's not raining now so there's still hope.

It is damp and although it was warm this morning the temp is dropping like a rock.

@AbbyGreenhill We are hovering around 0 degrees Celsius at night, which is 32 Fahrenheit. During the day we get into the 40's, maybe 50.

I tend to be a very positive person. Why not? It only makes people feel bad if they are negative.

That's true. No sense feeling bad about what you didn't do when you can do something today to make it better.

I think about things, but getting them done is another story all together. I still have four potted plants to move in.

we don't have four seasons, but raking leaves on a rainy and gray day doesn't sound pleasant.

Actually it isn't when they become all soggy. Truth is, I didn't get to it for that reason. I hope they dry out and I can try again tomorrow.

Organization just isn't in my genes either. I try. I get distracted. I try again. I do it the hard way. But I enjoy the view.

I don't know that I'd say I live my life backward, in fact I've never heard that term before. I do tend to procrastinate a bit which doesn't help. I need to get four packages of bulbs into the ground if possible and we've been having a few nice days when the sun is out. The problem is, when we get back home after washing windows and driving to and fro, I need a break and by that time the sun is already down.
We've had the heat on here for the past few weeks, for even when it's warmer outside, it's still chilly inside. I do turn the heat down to about 62-65 at night and I'm hoping I can continue that practice this winter even though I probably don't need to so much since we're getting a discounted price this winter.
I will say I'm a positive procrastinator.

That's a nice description -- "positive procrastinator." I should really put in more bulbs, too. I've planted what I have but a few more would be nice.

Don't let your legs get cold. I'm shivering thinking of wearing shorts. Going cycling, though, sounds like a good thing to do.

Today I'm feeling like a backwards person although most days are great. Hubby and I were talking about getting away for part of the winter and realized we haven't made any plans. WE usually do that in the summer but it never even came up.

@Sheilamarie78 He has relatives in Florida we want to see, we stay with one sister for a week but since we're going to be there we might as well enjoy a couple of beaches trading our time share for something sandy/

@norcal The days are even shorter here, Sherry. Especially when the weather is rainy, it seems we have very little daylight.

@Sheilamarie78 I was driving back from the city today. With the rain and all, it was already getting dark at 4:30. I can imaging that it's even earlier so far north.

I am trying to live life in a coward motion. When I feel myself going backwards I try to resist. The cold is of no help to me! I'll be fine until ice and snow. Then I have to add all kinds of activities to my already to e strained day.

I do not like the cold, my legs hurt very badly when it's cold. This has gotten worse over the years and it has started already. So, I am not looking forward to the cold.
