Inspired by @salonga @poehere I would like to show some pictures of places I have been to in my own country.
When I was younger I want to go abroad to see places. Realization struck me when I met French volunteers in an NGO and after volunteering for a month or two they will explore my country Philippines. From then on I tell myself I will go and explore the rich and beautiful Philippines but of course I would want to see other countries.
So here is one place I love, Banaue. It is in the northern part of the Philippines in the Ifugao province. It is popularly known as a site where you can find UNESCO World Heritage site. It is sometimes called "eighth wonder of the world" because you see the sides of the mountains carved into staircase of fields. It is said that it has an altitude of 5000 feet.
It was magical going to Banuae. I got to experience crossing a hanging bridge where the river current underneath is devastatingly high. I got to experience spending my night with no electricity and yet you can see fireflies around. And all that you can see around you is rice terraces.
Would love to go back again and again.

Such a naturally beautiful place. Often people forget to explore the things that are the closest to them.

That is really beautiful and such a nice place. You country has a lot of beautiful places to visit and some of them away from the crowded cities. I would love to live in a place like that. But I live here and it is beautiful too so I am happy. One day I would love to go there and see this.

Oh yes, I also knew that the moment I laid eyes on this place. Banaue is my first long away from home travel when I was still 21 with the French volunteers. This picture is after our wedding I brought my husband there 10 years ago. hen you have the chance to go to my country, please do inform me so we can meet and I will escort you to see the beautiful places here. Two of the French volunteers I met became my friends and been back here two times after their volunteer work.

@rakski Wow how excellent and thank you. I have been invited to so many places around the world from people I know from my work. I have been offered homes to stay in and a private guide to take me around. I am sure one day I will go to their and see my brother's wife and two adorable children.

I have a good friend who is celebrating her birthday in Manila where her family is--she lives in Perth, Australia--she makes a lot of trips to the Philippines and is always posting pictures.
