Have you ever had a dream that seemed psychic?

I once met and spent a few days with a guy who was depressed because his sister had recently been killed in a car accident. On the third night after we met, I had a dream in which a woman gave me an amber box. She told me to give it to him, that he had lost his, and that he needed it to be happy again. When I awoke, I didn't understand it, but I went looking for an amber box and found one at a new-age type store. I bought it and gave it to him. Since I didn't know if he would think it was weird, I just handed it to him, saying, "Oh, here you go". His eyes got very big, and then filled with tears. He said that his sister had given him a very similar box made of amber, and that he had lost it in a recent move. Now that she was gone, he felt guilty for losing it. He seemed to start to perk up and to feel less sad. Later he told me that the box seemed to help his healing. Was this really her spirit giving me a message? Or was it my subconscious, picking up on something that I couldn't understand consciously? Or was is just a weird coincidence? Have you ever experienced something like this?

Funny thing is that we'll find out when we cross that bridge, of course by then you won't be able to tell anyone anymore

Scientifically speaking, I think I know how it happened. He must have mentioned it sometime that you consciously didn't register or don't remember, but your subconscious stored it for you. Then it appeared in your dream, and that's why you think its a psychic phenomenon. I'm glad you did that for him though, it really helped him overcome his depression a bit. I'm really sorry for his loss.

My guess is that it is coincidence, but it is a nice story anyway
