Sunny Day

United States
November 8, 2015 10:13am CST
It's a bright and beautiful sunny day. The only thing wrong with the sun shining through my windows is I've noticed how dirty my windows are I can see smudges on my sliding glass doors from where I'm sitting and I hadn't really noticed it before. If the sun moves just a little I won't be able to see the smudges and won't feel guilty about not washing them

We have a saying "the dirt shines under the sun" and this is so true, you see dust, spots on the windows, everything when the sun shines.

@Marilynda1225 Dusting is a never ending process, I cannot understand how is it that dust forms so fast.

After you do your windows want more to clean? Thankfully this house doesn't have a ton of windows but the ones the dog looks out have nose goobers galore.

@Marilynda1225 kids' smudges are easier to remove than hardened on dog goobers! LOL.

My smudges and fingerprints are probably at the same level as your pooches but mine are left by the grandchildren

I hate doing windows. I just close my curtains so I can ignore the fact that they need to be washed.

@Tampa_girl7 there you go. I put up more curtains, although really there is something very satisfying about cleaning those smudges.

Keeping the blinds closed is certainly a great way to avoid seeing smudges

I've been washing windows here lately. Hmmm, do you mean I could have adjusted the sunlight instead?

Even if you got those spots, there would be others. Best to avoid looking at them. As a friend of mine would say, if you don't look it isn't there.

It's a real pain to clean smudgy windows. You never seem to get all the smudge off.

Window cleaning is a never ending job especially when you have fingerprints and nose smudges from pets and children

Streaks drive my husband crazy, they don't affect me that way. But when he spots them he cleans them, I never ever clean windows, or I do like you are, and wait until the sun moves as it will give me a new outlook.

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, those are the pluses, but the downside is losing the tv on Sundays for football, hence is my afternoon today.

@Juliaacv very true about losing the tv to football. I wouldn't want to share my remote on any day LOL

The trouble is that get up to deal with one smear, then sit down and there's another one! You sometimes can't see them close up.

there are times when I wish I had a maid to do all the heavy cleaning (like the windows) but unless I win the lottery I'm on my own LOL

Best way to avoid noticing dirty windows is not to wear your glasses in the house.

Visited my sister last month and cleaned her kitchen window fo her as it was sunny and showed up all the spots. A microfibre cloth did the trick!

Maybe I should get a microfiber cloth. Usually I use paper towels and they still leave streaks
