A truck driver tried to kill me.

I drive a considerable distance for work every day, usually around 100 miles. I do not drive over the posted speed limit anywhere. Most of my daily drive consists of a maximum speed limit of 65 MPH with the exception of speed limits through 2 small towns of 60 MPH through one, and 45 MPH through the other.
While driving from one Wal-Mart to another one, I was driving between 55 MPH and 60 MPH on an open stretch of road. I looked up to check on anyone who might be behind me and couldn't see anything but the grill of a truck hauling grain. Shortly after this shock of what I was seeing that truck went past me and I saw a vehicle going in the opposite direction crest the hill. I guess that is when the driver of that truck pulled back into the lane that I was still driving in. I shifted down and hit the brakes while moving over as far as I could without getting off the road, which could have been a serious disaster for me.
After avoiding this impending disaster I just had to see where this driver had to go in such a hurry. He drove to a nearby town for their grain elevator which was all of maybe 2 miles away from where this happened. I couldn't believe that he was in that much of a rush to go that little bit of distance.
I was driving my favorite car at the time. It is a 1991 Mercury Capri with a removable hardtop. If I had gone off the road I probably would not have got it back on the road in any decent condition.
What do you think of this?

I kind of doubt that he was in much of a hurry because when he recognized my car he went over to look at it and then walked into the office with his daughter.

Yes I did. I told him that he had no business driving like that and should find another way to make a living before he killed someone or himself.

I just could not believe that his daughter, when you talked to the grain elevator, told a different story about how reckless you were. I think people get bugged by your little car and just have to show you.

Honestly, when I see big trucks on the road, I slow down a bit and let them get a good mile ahead of me. I don't want to deal with it. I am not sure why anyone is rushing on the roads. They probably won't get there faster and they may not get there at all.

I agree with you. It just doesn't make sense to drive like that.

Glad you are OK. I can never understand the rush some of these drivers are in just to save a few seconds

I'm glad this incident wasn't any worse than it was.
