Summer is most definitely here with the mercury rising to 38* midday therefore swimming is the leisurely pass time of most days and certainly every week-end with plenty of watermelon to eat.
"You can blend the sweet pulp into a refreshing drink, or serve it with some honey & yogurt. Have guests over? Skewer it with feta & top it off with olive tapenade. Give your palate a summer awakening and make the best use of this seasonal melon."
Watermelon is a staple diet in most SA homes in the summer months and therefore we have many fabulous recipes.
Watermelon slushies . . . (juice in crushed ice)
or a breezy cocktail,
maybe just a cooling smoothie - Summer is here with pretty pink drinks.
Watermelon salad with feta cheese . . .
We are very fortunate to have bountiful amounts of fruits - do you like watermelon ?

Nothing to be jealous of @ison_1 . It's far too hot here, and we've got a severe drought with water restrictions already in place. I hate winter but I'm almost wishing this summer was over already because they're expecting it to stay dry until March.

I love watermelon, any time. When I worked at the preschool we would blend watermelon, lime juice, honey and yogurt. Very good.

I love watermelon, sadly it's not diabetic friendly.

It certainly is very refreshing in hot weather. Everywhere you go in China you are served watermelon for dessert.

It's so nice to hear from the other side where the watermelon is bursting and the sun is warm.

We always buy lots of watermellon in the summer months as it is good with a meal or as a snack. Yes, I like a nice juicy watermellon. I will cut it into smaller pieces. I had a friend who could make a watermellon look like a carry all she would carve into the inside with a special spoon type of spoon and then she would put the round pieces inside of it and take to a party or some type of get together.
