Have been a bit under the weather but what is new. I do see something new here. suggesting other folks posts. Is it new or just me? I wish i could afford to start a new website for people to connect with other lonely old folks on the phone. I know there are lots of places like this site here where you connect. but as you see, I am not great with typeing a lot. With me theres nothing better then talking on the phone when you are down. Lately I seem to have a lot of computer issues also. will try and get to some posts here now. hugs friends. Bon

pm your number and i just might do that. i have another friend lives in Boise as a matter of fact. but she is remarried and used to be married to my son.
so its kind of hard to carry a lot of conversation with her as her hubby gets a bit uncomfortable if we talk a lot. you know what i mean?

I am sorry that you have been a little bit under the weather. I think that you are right that there are lots of lonely people that could benefit from joining sites like this one. It is not just the old that can be lonely. I like the typing because it gives me time to think about what I am going to say and I can take my time. If people have a computer Skype is a good option because not only can you talk for free on Skype but you can also use a video link too. I often talk to my daughter who lives thousands of miles away. I chat with her on Skype for a couple of hours and it cost me nothing.

@bunnybon7 I love Skype, I sit at the kitchen table with my cuppa tea and my daughter sits at hers and we chat and laugh like we are sitting opposite each other in the same room.
I can see what is going on around her, the dog and the cats come over and interrupt just like they do in real life. I can wander off and put the kettle on for a fresh brew, and I can still see and talk to her as I do it.
Sometimes I use my Tablet and I can wander around and show her what the weather is like where I am. Of course it is not as good as being with her in the flesh but it is good.

O, I would love to talk with friends on the phone. I just love listening to beautiful voices, laughs, giggles, and even guffaws on the phone instead of just staring at these funny emoticons. . .

I am not much of a phone person. I am waiting to see if you are going to get into senior housing near your friend. My sister was scared to be on her own, but now she is in one and has friends and sits and visits and it works really well for her.

We do what we can, dear. I am a phone fan too and only open FB to see some pictures my friends post there. Typing has left me along with my eyes.

I hope you get to meet more people to talk to on the phone. Just be extra careful though with new acquaintances as you know there are people out there who prey on the lonely..

yes it is quite hard when issues prevent you doing more on the pc.

For me personally, I do better online than on the phone. So many times I'm online but I have the TV going or some music. And when the phone rings I have to stop everything. But I see your point. Hearing a real voice definitely can help when we're down. I hope things get better for you very soon!
