Working on my mom's book

It's time for the holiday book again and I'm working on the illustrations. Each year my mom (@sallypup) writes the story, my dad helps bind the book, and I do all the illustrations. Then copies are mailed to everyone in the family. It's a fun way for everyone to be involved, even though I live 1500 miles away from them.
Here's one of the illustrations from this years book, to show you all:

Yep, every single year. And I should probably put her name up in the description.

No, she writes the story and then I figure out what illustrations will go with it. It's pen and ink, manga markers to be specific (basically technical pens) on paper, photographed, and reduced to black and white.

Mostly rural or small town life, things based loosely on stuff that happened to her, stories like that. Farm life etc. Not at all like me - I write mostly science fiction, hard core low magic fantasy, and things like that.

I love this picture, it's so serene and great. What kind of stories does you mom write?

@Rohvannyn wow thanks for the profile link. I will follow her. She sounds like such an awesome writer.....it is difficult to write stories set in rural environments if you don't get that vibe. Pretty hard for someone who has lived in a city the whole life.

Thank you. She writes a lot of stories about rural life in Whatcom County as well as some about life in St. Paul, Minnesota. She's also a heck of a poet. She's on MyLot as @sallypup.

It's that great art and the illustrations that make a difference after all the love that is put into it.
