Family meal is family time. Do you have this time for your family? We live in such a busy world but it is always important that we share a family meal together at least. Yes, mostly both parents are working but Finding time to eat dinner as a family has more benefits that go beyond nutrition and good health. Why dinner and not other meals in a regular day? Every day we all get up so early preparing to go to work and the children to go to school. Everyone is in a hurry. So dinner is the perfect time that the whole family can bond together without the worries of the day’s work ahead.

You are right. Today people have the busier lives and sometimes it may not be too difficult to get together to have a dinner. But in my family, we pay attention to the gathering meal. We can't get together in breakfast and lunch, but at least we can try to be together in dinner time. Eating together can let us have a closer relationship. We will talk about each others' daily news.

@Auntylou I am very glad to hear that. But actually there are many people who are good at English here. I don't know many words yet. Sometimes I need to look up the dictionary.

Yes, while eating together we can chat and exchange news among family members. I am waiting for another family gathering to be able to meet my cute cousin.

We are only two and retired, so we always eat together now. When I was a kid our family moment was the dinner time.

Hi Zandi, long time no see. Indeed, weekend is another good time to get together whenever we are free. Some of my nearby relatives come to visit us during weekend since they are free from work.

There are only two of us now, and I'm afraid we mostly eat in front of the TV.

My husband has always worked late, and now my kids are in so many activities that we don't always have a normal meal time. Before the kids activities we would have dinner with me and the kids but not hubby as he was still working. Now we tend to eat meals in shifts depending on who is home.

Nowadays, almost everyone are leading a very busy lifestyle. The only time that we are able to interact with each other is during dinner. In order to be able to interact with relatives from faraway places, we will organize family gathering. That would be held once every few years, depending on everyone schedule. Last year, my parents had held a family gathering with a few of my relatives. Unbelievable, my cousin whom i last seen was still a baby had grown into a cute active boy. Time really brings wonder to everyone.

Back when my kids were litle and still at home we had dinner together. Now that it is just my son and I, we don't have meals together. Mostly because of his work schedule. He works nights and sleeps days, so he's usually gone or going at dinner time.

My son has become rather nocturnal and so family meals are rare these days, sadly.
