Cleaning up my candles

I have made a lot of candles over the years., I love making these hand made candles but after we moved into our new home I can't make them anymore. I don't have the space for it and our kitchen is way too small to mess around with candle wax.
I decided to clean up the candles that have collected dust and grime over the years. The process is very simple, a ball of cotton and rubbing alcohol is what you need.
Wet the cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and clean on. The candles look as good as new.
I have used glitter on some they have come off .. now I can redesign them how I like and they will really look new.

You truly are industrious. Do you light these candles on occasions? Are they scented?

@allknowing Not so much.. They have hand worked flowers on them, and the whole thing will get spoiled if I burnt them.. I do light some of them which just have glitter on them. Yes, i do make scented candles.

@sofssu I used to find making candles to be very relaxing, but when life became busy with raising our son and working I had less time to devote to that passion of mine, so the candles in a jar started to appear. I don't have too many of them, I use a lot of the wax melts for scents in the house. They are not near as pretty as a candle, but more practical for us right now.

how lovely that you can make candles - I remember buying a very lavish one for my mum which looked great for years until she left it on a windowsill on a hot day and the sun melted it creating a terrible mess.

@arthurchappell How sweet and thoughtful of you to do so.. Haha it always makes a terrible mess when left in the heat.

I made homemade candles for 8 years and sold them. I made a pretty decent income with them, but when we moved I quit making them. My son asked me to start again, but I refuse to.

@sofssu Mainly cause I just don't have the time or desire for it anymore, and I went to burners instead of actual candles. Which I can make the tarts for the burners. I also have molds to make the decorative candles and soaps. Perhaps I should send it all to you.

@TexanTornado oh ya.. so we have more in common now.. But why do you not want to make them again.. I wish I had more space to do so.

@kevinakash The fancy one and the scented jars are expensive here too. Making them at home just costs a fraction of what you have to spend.

I've often thought about making candles, and I've got more time now.... Might give it a go.... it's a shame you have not got enough room to continue doing it....

@sueznewz2 I will miss candle making. Albeit the fact that it is so messy. Making them in my open kitchen would mean mess everywhere.

I normally just pour my candle wax into a small jar or some kind of container. Then I clean the container if there is anything left of the candle by the time the container gets dusty, sofs.
I found some of those beads a couple of months ago that you just put your wick into the container, pour the wax beads into the container and light your new candle. I still shave fragrance tablets into the container with the beads, but you really don't have to if you prefer then unscented.

@DaddyEvil Wow I am glad to hear that you make candles. I love scented candles.. the perfumes they sell locally aren't good.. so I git some strawberry scent on Ebay and it was a hit with my friends last year..
But just melt and pour candles aren't fun for me. I love using my clay flower making skills to embellish candles made in molds.
