Veterans day puts Americans in mind of those who fought in the wars. In all countries there are men and women who have given their lives for their country. But we don't often celebrate the unsung heroes of war.
I love dogs, many of which have served in wars defending their comrades even, for some, to their death. Some have received the purple heart.
I am not an advocate of war, however, I honor all those who have fought because they do so desiring to aid their country and fellow man. I also honor the memory of these courage four-legged veterans.

Canines are the most loyal of creatures and we take advantage of them by training them to sacrifice their safety and lives for that of a human. I think it's unfair that they're so often forgotten, they give selflessly.
Thank you for writing this.
