Black Friday Anyone

I have never done Black Friday and never intended to. However, all that might change this year.
My son approached me this morning and said 'You know there is a holiday coming up and the day after the holiday, right?"
I searched my brain to come up with what he was talking about. My first thought was Christmas, then went to Thanksgiving and that's when I hit on Black Friday. So I said yes, I'm aware.
He said it would be a good idea to shop on Black Friday for a new computer. He also said that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES was I to even consider another used computer.
So though I'm dreading the idea of going shopping on Black Friday, the idea of getting a computer for a decent price is something to think about.
How about you? Have any of you shopped Black Friday?
Thanks for reading.

@BelleStarr I know it's a plus for the community to do so.

I have gone to Black Friday sales in the past, especially for electronics. However, this year I don't need any new electronics, so I will skip Black Friday!

I'm leery of shopping on Black Friday. I've heard a lot of stories about the horrors of it, even from store clerks.

Yes, they really drop the prices way down and you can get some really good deals, but the prices are only for a few hours, so people will do anything to get that good deal. I'm seriously thinking about Cyber Monday and shopping online for those good deals.

My son did this last year for exactly the computer he wanted.

I am thinking about waiting until Cyber Monday and do just that.

I did it one time, about thirty years ago. It is more wild now. I would recommend researching some computers and considering Cyber Monday, instead. Go to the stores now and scout out what you would like. It just seems less stressful to me.

I shopped on Black Friday once because I didn´t know about it. I went to change a blouse that did not fit me and ended up with a wonderful pair of shoes at half price. But I didn´t get hooked. I buy what I need and nothing more.

That's great! I'm thinking about doing my Black Friday shopping online. My son is of the opinion that it's not that bad here as elsewhere, but I've heard otherwise.

I went to a black Friday sale about five years ago when my two younger sons wanted to go. It was terrible. You wait in a long line for ever to get what you want. People shove and push each other and it to me was not worth ever going to one again.
I hope your son will go with you and wait in the line for you. You will get a good deal.

@just4him Yes, lots of deals can be had on Cyber Monday and not having to leave the house is great.

They only put a few of those 'good deals' out - you're better off looking a different day - it cannot be worth the aggravation.

You have the Black Friday flyers already? I know I just saw Wal-Mart has their deals already posted, but do they all?

I've done a BIG black friday shop once. in 2007 I went and bought 2 32 inch tv's for $600 which was a STEAL at the time and right when we were buying our house. It was actually kinda fun!

And you survived the trauma of the day. That's great you were able to find such great deals on TVs. I bought my home in 2007 as well.

That's why I'm dreading going on Black Friday and considering Cyber Monday instead.

That's probably a good thing. Black Friday shopping can be dangerous.

About two years ago I started doing the Black Friday thing. This year I am doing again. But some things I am buying online instead of the stores.
