Building School Spirit

Hi. I am Gabriel Ramirez, I am an 18 year-old, and I'm in the first year of college. I will be talking about my current situation. "I don't belong here." These were the words I uttered when I transferred to another university. I thought of myself as someone superior in a sense that I can outgrow or outsmart everyone around me. To be honest, I was afraid that this university might not be able to provide me the joy of learning that I have so long yearned for. I have never been so wrong in my whole life. It turns out that this university had everything that I was looking for. Not only was the quality of education high, but the people were really friendly as well. They are just overflowing with school spirit. This is also where I became very interested in sports. From a person who totally despised basketball, to a guy who actually wants to play basketball every single day. Learning became more enjoyable as well. I used to study all by myself, but now I am always in study groups especially before exams. There is many more to explore in this great university, and I hope I could get much of it in the remaining months of my first year. I will be here, hungry, and waiting for more.

Give it a chance and choose your classes wisely. You might be surprised at what you find in the end.
