Happiness leads to riches and not the other way round

Those who think that they will be happy when they are rich are miserable persons. They get the sequence wrong. It is often the other way. When you have a happy family, and young kids who adore you, you will get the motivation to work harder and work smarter. Your happiness leads you to more riches. That is why many rich people are happy people. They get the sequence correct and they do not work very long hours. In many companies, we see the owners of the companies coming in later than us, and leaving earlier than us.

Oh, I've seen many business owners who come first and leave last every day before and after the employees.

These must be the small business owners. You seldom see the owners of big businesses work so hard. If you are working in a company with more than 1000 employees, you are not likely to see the owners who are serving as Chairman or CEO coming to office so early. They are more likely to come in to sign something, and then head off to the golf course.

I think that happiness consists of little things all adding up. It is not a huge goal waiting for us down the road.
