We Really Weren't Serious about Wanting a Dead Body

Sandy Neck Beach

This morning Mom and I were out making the rounds and talking about what would help increase our video traffic (she's becoming quite interested in making money online). We facetiously said that if a dead body washed up on one of the beaches, it would certainly be a moneymaker if we got there first. You see a few years ago a dismembered torso was left on the beach about one-half mile from our house. So it's not that far-fetched. Well when I got home I heard about a body on one of the beaches.(They think the person died of natural causes.) I know we didn't cause the death in any way, but we still felt bad.

That is eerily coincidental. I guess I am glad it was natural causes, though.

Yep, you know that torso was found about two years ago, and we still don't know anything about it. I think it will remain an unsolved crime.

@NeldaHoxie a torso is a strange thing to find laying around. That makes me wonder, are there sharks in your waters? Or like a loch ness monster, or some animal that could cause that?

@BethieAnnie No it was definitely a homicide. The person was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped on our beach.

Aww, it is just a coincidence, or maybe your both in tune with the world around you! Either way, don't feel bad for long, other than sympathies for the deseaced and their family. The question remains.... Did u get there first, doesn't sound like you did! That's probably a good thing though.

Could be a good thing but then and again maybe not.

That's a real coincidence, isn't it? I can understand if you felt a twinge of guilt, though obviously there was no reason for you to do so.

I think it's an indication that thinking kind thoughts makes us happier than these kinds of thoughts.

As the saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for"! But of course, it's just coincidence.

@ Margaret Mwangi It is sort of like going past a hospital and saying someone is going to die there. People die on beaches, too. Bodies wash up and are often seen under bridges.

Seems strange you would be talking about finding a body and then one is found. Very strange to say the least.

Although it is just a coincidence, I would have felt a bit guilty for wishing it.

Yep, mom and I were talking about it afterwards. She said I'll have to work on my promotional strategies.

A very GOOD alibi, Nelda? It may have to withstand police questioning after we reveal what you told your mom, you know! (teasing you!) I'm sorry a coincidence like that happened so near your home, hon! That is really not funny. Let's hope it was natural causes.

What a unfortunate coincidence! Then again, if you can wish for things, wish I find a winning lotto ticket tomorrow!

I think you are feeling guilty thinking that your conversation caused this person to die. It happens a lot more than you might think and had nothing to do with you. Since you knew nothing about what happened, don't worry about it. You did not cause it.

They say that you should not even think of bad to anyone. You did not care about that fact. But as you have some good in you, you feel guilty and bad for this. Next time think of some better ideas if you can.
