First snow!

Back yard snow

There was an old silly song that went "shake that ketchup bottle, first none will come, then a lot'll." That's what happened with the snow! It was late coming for us this year, but it dumped on us when it finally got here. I measured between 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 inches in the back yard depending on where I was. I just closed my eyes and picked a photo of it from one of several I took. Has it/does it snow where you are?

We actually haven't got any accumulation of snow this year yet. I'm hoping we're in for a mild winter. Still working on my firewood supply.

@koopharper Sounds like the way Colorado acts. When it happens, it happens big, from one extreme to another. I hope you don't have quite that much this year; it makes it tough to get around.

I thought you would have already had a good snow depth there! Good luck with your firewood supply. It's good to see you here.

@peavey Last year we didn't get any real accumulation before January which is unusual. Then we just plain got buried. Destroyed all the records on the books.

We haven't had snow around where I live yet. But it will come, there is no doubt about it. Love the photo included.

I get my joy only by looking at pictures such as yours as despite being there where it snows it never did.

It is really cold in the UK today so I am expecting frost or snow soon!

We will be buried soon, I'm not looking forward to it and the cold but it certainly is beautiful to look at.

I'm 'white' with envy. I would say green, but that is all I see with 50 degree days and rain instead of snow. Last year we had snow at this time. Now I'm wondering where it's at and why it's taking so long to get here. But on the other hand, I'm also praising God He's keeping it warm a little longer until I get my new furnace installed next week.

If you need a new furnace installed, maybe that's why the snow hasn't got there yet!

Our temperatures fluctuate quite a bit here (high above sea level) so if it was freezing temperature here in the morning, it would be melting by afternoon. Which it did, actually.

So far we have had just a bit of snow and today it was raining. We are not complaining. That is a very pretty picture and I am happy for you. I don't mind skipping the snow this year.

You say that the snow is late - it seems really early to me, but I live in England. We don't get an awful lot of snow, and it's mostly in January and February when it does come.

It usually snows here before Halloween. One of the worst storms I remember was on Halloween!
