I got a text today from the son of the people I petsit for. I am doing the cats insulin shot starting tonight, until Sunday evening. Luckily I work days, and have a few days off now. It cash, and I just do it in the morning, and at night. Usually I don't do much over the colder months, but this will give me a little extra money until Christmas when I do a few days.

Poor kitty cat. I'm glad you are able to help out and that you get some nice cash for your expertise.

I feel bad for him as he can sense the stress as well.

@ricki_911 Years ago I worked in a cat clinic. I will never forget the aged kitty who came in to get insulin shots and to have his blood checked. His owners were on vacation. I was just a helper. I believe that kitty suffered and did not understand constantly being poked with needles. If it had been my kitty, that kitty would have been in kitty heaven. What is mean and what is mercy?

@sallypup It depends on the cat. I do a lot of shots for cats, and dogs with no issues. This cat just sits still and has no issues getting it. With time they get use to it as well. His insulin levels are now normal, and he's healthy. But many don't follow the instructions and then end up injurying the cat more.

That's good. There's nothing wrong with extra cash. I'm sure you're grateful for that. It helps around the holidays. Enjoy!
