After a day spent mostly online and doing laundry the evening involved a trip to the pub for a fortnightly science fiction gathering. The weather was bad, and a few of the members are already away for a science fiction convention taking place near Nottingham this weekend, Novacon. Iād go myself if my income stretched to it but alas not. Those of us remaining had a very pleasant night and I caught the last tram home again. Hope the convention goes well for everyone.

yes, it's an informal social group of fans, started originally by university students but carried on past their university days - I started going in 1997 and we've all been friends ever since

@djgarner86 we are quite loyal friends - I joined a while after the university group founders set it up - I was at a different university and the numbers have grown over the years - we often visit conventions and science fiction events round Britain and sometimes even internationally

@Auntylou I have read some Lessing stories such as The Golden Notebook and The Grass Is singing though the Grass ... isn't SF it is powerful writing
