Probably my final Bubblews experiment

A week or two ago, I did an experiment Involving Bubblews. I commented on a few posts, wrote a post, and then went back a few days later to see how many likes and comments I'd get. To my surprise, I got about 15 likes and the same number of comments. However, there was a "confound" in my experiment. The post I submitted asked whether everyone had received their 2015 payments. People like to discuss their payments (the the lack thereof), so it wasn't a representative post. A few days ago, I submitted a more representative post: something about my most recent loudspeaker restoration project. It was a subject I posted about often over there. It received a total of five likes and one comment. Scanning through a few posts (and liking them, of course) I saw that many had zero or one like, while a few were still managing seven likes and eight comments. So there are a few hardy souls still inhabiting the dilapidated and wind-blown buildings of Bubblews Town. I also noticed a few scattered scorpion comments like "Great post. Please visit all my post too," which made me wax sentimental for about a third of a second. So, as with the ghost towns I sometimes visit up in Montana, there are a few souls left over there. But not very many. Will you visit there again?

I'm still there trying to keep the site alive, as are a few of my friends. My posts do alright.

If they're keeping the site alive, it is serving some purpose for them.

Well, I may. One thing Bubblews and myLot have in common, posts about Bubblews get lots of likes and comments.

@TheHorse Certainly, there are ties of community but much of that is about people where every they might presently be. The website did get a lot of attention all over the internet much of which is bad press. I was always positive but now can not write that I've always received redemption unless I actually receive redemption. My last comment on a post about the community being supportive was my grief over... I'm recovering from the loss of Ulysses S. Grant. Someone I fear I may never see in an image on 75% cotton and 25% linen.

I think people like to vent a bit. I wonder when the "grieving" will be over.

@TheHorse I went there the other day looking for a particular post of mine. When they all came up, the page did look nice with the larger size photos. Made me nostalgic for a minute.

A few members there may still acquire a moderate popularity, depending on who their friends are. However, it would be a formidable task to make any significant progress.

@TheHorse The odds of chance would suggest that a few such small pockets still exist, but building one now would be difficult.

I haven't been over there in a few days. I don't know what to do, haven't removed all my posts. I don't know why some people persist there, I think they just have to come to terms with the demise of the place at their own pace. It took me some time, too.

I was there about a week ago. I am earning a little less than a penny a day. When I have been over there, I have suggested to a few people that they add MyLot to the list of sites where they write. Some have come over here. There are others who have never shown up, as far as I can tell.

In general, change is stressful. I know that from psychology. I checked out a couple of sites suggested by Bubblers that just didn't work for me before I made it to MyLot.

For me I left and that was difficult, but I don't plan on writing or reading actively again. I do however go there on occasion to see if there is any news of anything in the redemption department, sadly I fear that 1 of these times I'll go there and read that they are disbanding the site. I don't know who, if anyone, is left in charge anymore. I launched another ticket this week and I received the automatic we got it, pack a lunch and we'll get to you email. But I don't expect anything will come of it. I just want to remind them (repeatedly) that they owe me, its been 6 months since I've redeemed.

hi@NeldaHOxie and @Thehorse it makes me sad to as I remember thwne @Arvind was so proud of bubblews and i made quite a bit of money too. Now so many are ignored when they ask why they have not receivedd their redemption money.

I left in Feb (?) of 2015, just after my last payout from them cleared. I received all of my redemptions, but I knew too many people who didn't. I saw too much plagiarism ignored. I just left, wanting nothing to do with the site anymore. I was never a high earner and could walk away from the 67¢ with a clear conscience. I'm happy to run into so many old Bubblers—as well as a couple of Epinions refugees—here.

@celticeagle It's a frustrating situation. Even if you make it to $50, you don't know if you will get paid. The events in Paris put our concerns about Bubblews and its owners into perspective. But I still hope justice is served.

@sishy7 Possible changes? Isn't that like expecting ISIS members to convert to Judaism? There has been a monotonic decline in both honesty and payment rates since that site's inception. Why would they expect a change now?

I was going to visit again after being offline for over a year for personal reasons. I was majorly bummed to discover Bubblews just up and deleted my account with no notice. I've reached out because I would have loved to have archived the articles and comments but they haven't responded to my customer service request. It's so disappointing. I was curious to see what was going on, regardless of money because my bank hadn't moved a lick for ages. I'm not bothering to sign up again until I find out what happen. I don't want to pour my heart and soul into another account or site only to have my posts callously deleted.
