I grew up in a small country town, when I was a teenager in the 60s it was George Jones, Hank William Jr., Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash! That is just to name a few! I am crazy about music and when younger loved to dance! What is your music genre?

I'm with you on this one. Did grow up with all the old classics. Not sure why I choose my log-in-name but it was a song, that was performed by John Cash's sister inlaw. She also gave him ring of fire.

@FourWalls You are right I forgot that. Anita Carter first recorded the song but didn't write it. Sorry about that. (do I loose points ) That's how the music industry works. Other interesting stories are how rock and roll were created right?

"Ring of Fire" was written by Cash's wife, June Carter, and Merle Kilgore (Hank Jr.'s manager), not Johnny's sister-in-law.

I've always been one who loves all types of music. I love country, pop, rock, jazz, classical. I'm not a fan, at all, of rap. I'm not crazy about R&B (though occasionally a tune will be ok).

I'm not a Country music fan, but I remember seeing and hearing a lot it on TV when I was growing up in Tennessee. Some of those tunes have stuck with me, and I enjoy hearing them to this day.

It is funny how we get into a certain type of music. Where I live that was what was popular when I was a kid and guess I just got stuck on it! Yee Haw! Hehe!

I like different genres of music. I am definitely a country girl, though. I do like some of the oldies, but I also really like the new country. My daughter is also a country girl, and she likes cuddling with me and watching the country music videos in the morning before school.

@Margielynn Yes, that is our special time in the morning to relax and get a good start on having a wonderful day. I think it is important to do that as much as possible. Now, we have started playing a game in the car where you have to be the first one to shout out the name of the musician and title of the song as soon as it comes on the radio. If you get both first, then you get a point. If you only get one, then you get half a point. She is really good at identifying the musicians but has a harder time with the song titles. Soon, though, I suspect that she will be kicking my butt with this game.

@purplealabaster oh what fun! When my grandkids were young we would say first to spy a red car, blue truck etc when we were driving somewhere! That way they did not ask so many time, are we there yet or how much further! I miss those days, they are in college or teenagers now!

Hillbilly music, hardcore country music, from the Carter Family in the 1920's to Dale Watson and Wayne Hancock today, is the music of my soul. I also like rock and roll, generally "normal" rock (not heavy metal or stuff like that), what was called "college rock" or "roots rock" back in the 80's. And I even liked some punk (the Ramones, the Clash).

I like rock and roll too! One New Year Eve I gave a Rock and Roll Party for grandkids and the adults had just as much fun! That was years ago and they still talk about it!
