OMG!!! Three separate attacks has kicked off in Paris and appears to be ongoing..
My friend was scheduled to travel back to Paris for winter break.
He changed his flight to tomorrow two weeks ago, because he wanted to stay on for a party.
Good job he has just missed the attack, as he would have travelled through the attack zones should he went home today!
Bad news, he's now stuck in Dublin, because the boarder has closed!!!!
State of Emergency Declared!
Thoughts are with the Paris tonight :'(
Latest update: He was able to make it onto the 8:00am flight to Paris. They didn't shut the airports.

@Drosophila Yes I am on the other side of he world but we have direct live news feed from there to us. Now there is just a lot of talk of what will come in the next few days. First they said 2 and now it is 3 people who did this one. the borders are closed and I think all flights are closed. The capital is closed down tight right now and the roads are empty except for police and emergency response teams.

He is! He was booked onto a late flight too, then decided it was better to fly out today instead.

Absolutely! he nearly took the later flight on 13th, but thought better of it.. Who'd thought a party would have saved him all the stress.

Absolutely! Apparently there was another train derailed on Saturday 14th, seemed to be a bad week for Paris.

Allen has a visitor who lives in Paris and has been here a week---he will be going to New Orleans for a week and then New York before he goes home.

Thanks thanks! He is very lucky indeed! His family lives in Paris, they are fine too. They simply stayed in that evening. I guess they will be staying in more now.

@Drosophila We often say terrorists wouldn't bother with our town either. I just hope we're right. They are crazy enough to do anything.
