I'm lost in white

I have to check the map - I could have sworn I lived in the South! However, if you look out of my window you would think we've been transplanted to the frozen tundra. Everything is white with frost.
They called for it and it sure happened! Our low was 30 degrees and will be again tonight. My husband is curious to check his lettuce, which probably didn't make it. He picked a lot of it yesterday just in case.
The weatherman just informed us that this frost is actually a week later than our 'normal' first frost date. Define 'normal'!
How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
Photo belongs to me.

Here in FL we are finally getting some cooler temperatures-but we will probably never see snow here. Lol.

@Marilynda1225 ,
We do get some frost. Sometimes snow. The city will shut down cause of the snow. and it's not alot. Florida is where it's not so bad, I think, unless the weather gets really crazy and mother nature wants to play havoc on the oranges.

@wetnosedogs for some crazy reason I always thought the south was warmer than those of us further up the east coast. Looks like you get severe weather the same as we do

We had some frost a couple of weeks ago, but none lately. That is about a month later than our "average" (not normal) first frost date.

I guess 'average' or 'normal' changes all the time doesn't it.

@AbbyGreenhill seems as if the weather patterns change all the time so it's hard to determine when the seasons change

@Rosekitty Let me try again...
Once upon a time a beautiful rose grew in a garden. Everyone loved that rose and wanted one, but it was special just one of a kind. The Good Fairy came along and granted all the wishes and now the town is full of beautiful roses. .The End.

@AbbyGreenhill With my usual luck, the cold is coming the day before we have to go up 30 miles north for the annual check of the car.

It's slippery enough you could sled down that hill - right into the pond!

That's a pretty good hoar frost for only 2 degrees below! Looks more like snow.
Lettuces will be done for - can be pretty sure about that!
Here? The weather is chilly but still many degrees above freezing - 9C has to be in the 50's somewhere. We shan't see a frost like that for a while yet!

I think the lettuce can't make it through too.
It will take a very special kind of lettuce to survive.
I sure hope that this frost does not cause traffic accidents.
It must be very dangerous to drive in such condition.
My place is always hot and sunny. Think of the weather in Hawaii, and you can understand the weather here.

I lived in Hawaii for two years...loved the weather there. Frost is just on the grass and probably on cars so no driving problems. Still has not checked the lettuce...
