How Far Would You Go

I have heard this song and it is a man talking to a girl that he used to know from high school and has turned to hooking in order to care for her son. I have heard people who strip for money, who are parents, say that they would do anything in order to make sure food is on the table. What do you think. We can all say, "There are plenty of jobs out there," but in one area that I have lived, even McDonalds was only hiring desperate college students. Not high school. Would you be a trash man? Someone who deals with sewage? If you had children, and it was not just you working, what would you do? Would you sacrifice your morals and your pride?

There are literally thousands of jobs out there, but it is people's pride that prevents them from filling those jobs. Many people think they are too good for a particular job. I would swallow my pride and do whatever is necessary to put food on the table for my family, even if it meant scrubbing toilets or picking up trash.

At the lowest parts of my life I even researched how much recycling produced money. It was like 33 cents for every pound. Not including going out and finding pieces of metal scraps and such for scrap yards. I was doing swagbucks, blogging sites and more.

Look at the people applying for jobs so it isn't want you are used to but it is better than being on welfare or begging on the street.

@Kazemononoke I knew people who would travel the highway and pick up scrap metal and take it to the scrap yard for money to eat on.

Same here. No matter what though, my children never felt like they didn't have what they needed.

In my lifetime I had had jobs i wasn't proud of but in order to feed my kids I did those jobs until something better came along. Picking up garbage may not sound like a good job but it can pay decent and it is an honest job.

no kids, so only can surmise, but I have a feeling not much I wouldn't do to take care of them if I had em

If it were really the only way to keep a family together, I guess I would do whatever it took. Luckily we're retired and I won't ever have to face the reality.

I would do whatever it takes to put food in my children's mouth, clothes on their back, and shelter over their heads. It might not be filet mignon, Abercrombie, or The Hilton, but those are not necessities. There are many jobless and homeless families, and jobs are few, but some of us get lucky and can make it fairly well.

very true you don't need the most expensive of foods to survive but some of get along and can make it fairly well as you said.
