Have you ever tried kimchi?

Ever since I became a Korean drama fan, I’ve always wanted to try the food they are eating. Kimchi is a one popular Korean food and I was curious how it tastes. It seems really good for me, the color and they said it is spicy. They are selling kimchi in bottles in the supermarkets so I bought one, it costs 70php ($1.5). Since it’s a Korean side-dish, I get a big bite and the taste was unexpected. It was super sour and not as spicy as I thought. Though it was good, I love eating it with fried chickens. I would love to buy again soon.

Kimichi is a traditional Korean side dish. It is a fermented vegetable (mostly cabbage) seasoned with salt, red pepper paste, garlic and ginger.

I wonder how other kimchis taste. At first I thought they are salty and spicy but the one I bought was not that spicy, it was sour.

It depends whether they add chili to the kimchi. Most kimchi are not spicy. I like kimchi with porridge. You can try to eat it with porridge and probably some peanuts to add taste.

I like Korean food! I'm glad we have restaurants in the US that offer the cuisine. I also like watching that cooking TV show called “Kimchi Chronicles”. Can't watch an episode without my mouth watering. You're right. Watching K-dramas does make you want to eat more Korean food. Every time, in a scene, when they set a table and lay out all those bowls full of yumminess and those pancakes, etc., I start imagining myself enjoying the meal. It's so funny because my kids like to watch a lot of anime. I know anime is Japanese. But they like to watch the shows because of the food!!
Marja and Jean-Georges return to Korean to discover their culinary ancestry on Kimchi Chronicles with appearances by Hugh Jackman and Heather Graham.

I've never tried kimchi but once I bought a popcorn with kimchi flavor and I loved it! I think I'm going to like the real kimchi too.

I have tried it before its basically somewhat like spicy pickled cabbage. It's not bad but not something I would eat in a regular basis
