I think it is inherent in most humans to want to give aid to their fellow man. I also think that when someone is in need, they may accept help, but they do not want pity. They want understanding and empathy. As some of the other commenters have said, helping others starts a chain reaction. Giving is important because it gives us joy if we give out of human compassion and a loving heart. Continue to exercise that quality of wanting to help others and your miracle will come. Just when you think no one is there, in a crisis one day, the universe will remember you with kindness.

For years my husband and I were never helped either, we were always looked down upon but recently that all changed. People have been helping us in our worst times yet. The time will come, if you have faith in the Lord where you will get help when you need it the most. My husband and I love being able to help others, but sometimes we are the ones needing the help.
