Reading as an escape.

A quote by Elizabeth Scott says :“I love books. I like that the moment you open one and sink into it you can escape from the world [...]"
Who reads, can have multiple intentions, and sometimes one of these is to escape from reality and his own problems.
When you read, you can focus on the characters story, and forget for a moment your problems and everything concerns you.
Do you agree?

Well, reading is definitely a fun experience although I don't read in order to escape the world. I read in order to immerse myself to a different world to seek principles I can apply in the real world. I read because it is fun and adventurous.Kudos~!

a fact thing is that if you really feel the character then you feel that its your story and you are hero or princess and in it you forget everything which you thinking before reading it.

Oh yes I agree. Nothing better than a good book to get lost in. :)

Sometimes I read to entertain myself, and that often does mean an escape from pain. I rarely have time to read novels unless I'm sick or convalescing. More often I read for information and that is not escape, but research. I do love reading novels, but I don't want to be reading four or five a day as my mom did in her last years.

It can be a great escape, yes. I've read books that take me to a different world, those books are really hard to put down.
