Water and Diamonds.

We need water to live . But it is generally pretty cheap. We don't need diamonds for much. But they are expensive. Why are diamonds more costly than water ?

actually diamond are not very rare they are mined almost everyday in Africa....they are jus kept in a reserve so as to make it rare....havnt u heard abt Blood Diamonds (its real not only in movies) if it was so rare how come rebels n other peasant find them so easily aftr a lot of digging...huh ?_?

Yeah, like rappers say "high-sighting" - having the nice shoes, nice cars, beautiful women, not so much for yourself but because you want someone else to see it.

diamonds are rarer than water, and harder to mine , because you need special equiptment to mine them , cut them , and then style them into jewelery

what is more demand than diamonds .water is essential so automatically water is cheap.

water is plenty in nature diamond is not like that ...if a demand ( not need )of water is overcomes diamond then water becomes more costly ...

water is in ample on earth. it has no cost (amulaya) ie one whose cost can never payed. but diamond are rare.

We need water but on on your question why the diamond is more expensive than water is because you cant find diamond anywhere but you can always have water except on the dessert.

water is ofcourse very precious in it's own way. Diamonds are rare and not found easily so they are expensive.
