After almost three years Bubblews has shut down.
I've just been over there and there is a notice to that effect there,
I loved Bubblews, it was my very first writing site, and I was active there until the end.
I made a lot of good friends there, and was able to learn to express myself via the written word, and I'll always be grateful to it for that.
So, farewell Bubblews, I'll miss you.

@rebelann As you say - BUMMER. I was owed more than you, but I kissed that goodbye a long time ago. I would have been quite happy writing there for free if they'd come clean with us, and if there were enough people there to read our stuff.

I have nothing good to say. The people made the site, not the owners, not the site's layout, not the admin, no one made that site what it was except the writers. I congratulate all who left in January, I wish I had. But then, I would have missed having those several months with friends. Sad? Yes. But maybe not so sad that I won't send some nasty tweets to the perpetrators.

Wow. I am actually shocked. I mean, I knew they were having problems since I got duped, but I never actually thought it would fully close the doors. Serves them right I guess for not paying the people that actually stuck around. Good riddance I say.

@DanieGirl80587 I know that a lot of people feel like you do, but I don't. I don't believe they ever meant to cheat people, they were just in over their heads businesswise.

@Sheilamarie78 I have not moved mine to HubPages and I have not republished my Squidoo articles, they were pretty good. I do not know what to do of them.

I was on Squidoo, too. Have you ever found a new place for your articles there? My hubs have tanked. Wizzley is still a good option, but I've given up on writing online sales articles.

I will miss the Bubblews from the past but the Bubbles who stop paying and communicating will not be missed. I'm glad they pulled the plug, It was a ghost town.

@jaboUK I miss the people from there, but the site and how it was managed made me angry

@PainsOnSlate I know what you mean, it's a relief in a way after expecting it for so long.

I still haven't found a writing site that paid out like Bubblews or Squidoo.

@AdrienneJenkins Yes, the earnings are really just peanuts here, but they are nice peanuts. And so far they are not just paying, but paying before they need to.

Oh wow! I read your post and then went to look, and yes, it's gone. The URL comes up 404 not found. It's a shame to see.

@jaboUK Yes, when you go to the site itself. I had it set up so mine automatically went to my profile.

@TexanTornado The notice isn't even there now? i do think they could have left it up for a while. (I've just been to check and the notice is still there for me).

The notice is still there for me, too, @jabo and I looked just now at 11:50pm. I wonder, @TexanTornado whether it's the browser you're using that isn't showing the notice for you or some other reason?

@Tampa_girl7 Not surprising, but still sad, Marie. Thank goodness we have this site.

No shock, but I do feel a bit sorry for the loyal members who kept the wheels turning for so long. We had some great times there, but its legacy won't be a positive one for most people.

@troyburns Oh yes Robin, I've got them all. I always wrote them elsewhere anyway, and copied and pasted to Bubblews. Even if I hadn't done it that way, there has been plenty of time to get them as we've known the site was going down for months now.

@troyburns The legacy for me is positive, though I know that's not the case for most people. I'll remember the good times

I was in charge of the travel area for many many years at Helium and that devastated me more than losing the B but your right. these social sites are much better for making friends and getting to know people.

@BelleStarr As you say Isabelle, Bubblews was a great place for making friends, and we've been able to carry on and even expand those friendships here.

I will miss it too. There was no notice when I tried to go there. It came as a surprise to me. A little more warning would have been nice.

@suziecat7 it would have been nice to get a proper period of notice, but it wasn't really a surprise to me. Every time I visited I expected it to be gone.

RIP Bubblews
I will also miss Bubblews, lots and lots of memoires there. I met of many wonderful people there including my ex-partner.
I enjoyed Bubblews writing over 2800 posts and boring everyone about daily life.
It's a shame the way the website went after the big changes, I love it until then, Bubblews will be sadly missed.

@kevin1877uk Even though it didn't work out in the end with your ex-partner, you wouldn't wish that those times had never happened, would you?

@Inlemay Hi Lany, disappointing is the word. if they'd only had some good business brains on board it may have been a different story.
I thought you would have had time to take your posts down as the closure has been on the cards for some time. I have all mine saved but didn't have even a third of the amount you have.
