Farewell Bubblews. Ding Dong The Site Is Dead !!! Now Officially Kaput.

Doctor, it's time we call it. Thanks to @Jabo in "RIP Bubblews" who posted that the site is now gone. I hadn't posted in well over a year. But what really cheezes me off is that I didn't get to scrapbook the memories. About a month ago, a fellow Bubbler informed me that my account was gone. I had no idea for how long. I hadn't had time to archive any of my posts. What a sorry way for such a site with such promise to flame out. At least with other sites like Associated Content/Yahoo Answers and Squidoo, we were at least given the opportunity to archive our content. I don't care about the money that stopped getting paid out. I miss the opportunity to save some of the most beautiful thoughtful discussions that the community offered up. In the hopes of protecting his name, I hope Arvind or somebody in the Bubblews team will come to their senses and let bubblers have access to their posts. It's so smarmy and short sighted otherwise. So I only hope that Bubblers will find their way here some how. It would be nice to get back in touch with such awesome fellow online writers. Did you archive your posts in time? What did you love about the site? What do you miss the most? Eulogize away..... UPDATE: If you want to find some of your previous beloved Bubblews posts, you can search in Google. If there's still a cached copy, you'll see a little upside triangle in the search results. You can click on this and it will show you a cached version. It won't be available for all search results on Google just those that were cached at some point in time. I'd act quickly if you're looking to find something specific because eventually these will be deleted as well. Greetings, After being up and running for almost 3 years now we regrettably need to inform you that we will be shutting Bubblews.com down. The climate for display advertising has drastically changed and made it impossible for us to sustain the business mod

I wish they would have given us the chance to save posts and at least let our friends/connections know where to find us. The way they just did that all of a sudden is not cool at all.

@tammys85 YES!!!! That's what gets me too. Hello. It would be like discovering your drycleaner closed up shop and then didn't let you go pick up your stuff.

You won't see me crying. It's really no surprise to anyone who watched their unscrupulous activities.

I do remember you being one of their most ardent supporters when I joined there. Never mind, we're nearly all here now. My posts there were off the cuff, spontantaneous, as they are here. I really diode as they suggested and wrote my life. I had no need to save them, they are of no use to me.

I loved it there. And it was fun while it lasted. I stopped writing around the time they deleted multiple photos which deleted a lot of cool content that went along with it. I think I also stopped around the time that they changed the payout algorithm and I got frustrated because the site was always down.

I noticed something someone else wrote a bit ago too and checked it out for myself. Although I did save my urls when writing them the first few years, I didn't save much of my content. I do have some on evernote, but that program tends to put writing on top of the pages, so I don't know whether I can get much of my content that way and I never did save it all. I hope they give folks a chance to get what they hadn't yet too. I noticed your account gone some time ago, but I thought you pulled it yourself. Many of us stopped back to your last post periodically to touch base with you in case you ever did check back in. If you're able to get your content eventually, maybe you'll see all those that did stop by to visit hoping you'd come back.

That's just it, I read so many beautiful words but wasn't in the right frame of mind to respond so it was devastating to have those words and caring messages go poof. But glad to see you here and it will be nice to keep in touch going forward in our new endeavors.

@AdrienneJenkins Where exactly is that located, and it will probably only be there for a short time, I'm guessing? Not sure if I have any more time now than I already had to retrieve many of them.

I left the site over a year ago when they changed the pay rate, but I have all my posts saved on my computer and will be moving them over to HubPages and rellinking them on my various blogs.

I saved mine too but I wonder if we can reuse them as they have been indexed by the search engines. I'd like to reuse mine too.

so many obituaries for them on here - it has been the biggest trending topic on Mylot for days - I hope everyone gets the bulk of their work back from the caches / archives

Thanks for that cache tip. I haven't had much hope for that site for a while now, but I did like the layout and of course, the people -- most of whom have found their way here.

You are here! I was gidget on bubblews. I had heard rumors that they were closing, and had been saving some of my articles, but there are still a good many on my late son that I was unable to retrieve. I sent an email to Arvind's linkedin, I hope he responds.

I had one of Arvind's e-mail addresses at one point where we corresponded back and forth about payment owing. Then he stopped replying at some point. I hope you have better luck.

luckily, I never wrote anything too important at Bubblews, just my random thoughts. sad that it is gone but oh well.

I never wrote anything too significant but there were some pieces that generated thoughtful discussions and it's the comments that I wanted to save that aren't in any sort of original word document of just the article. But then again, I save letters and birthday cards too.

Fortunately, I wrote all of my posts in Word and copied them into Bubblews, so I still have all the articles. I will miss the camaraderie of the site, but hope to catch up with some of my old friends and make new ones here. I never saw Bubblews as a means of making money anyway, and much of the original mayhem, which I loved, had disappeared. It was a shock when it finally happened, though!

Yes -- I tried "The Wayback Machine" archive but yours gets the same if not better results much more easily.

I pulled most of the really good posts quite some time ago. There were still quite a few left though that I should have retrieved. My lazy butt didn't get after it. I will follow your suggestions to see if they are still cached somewhere. Later today though because I have an early start to my day at work.

I deleted most of my posts last January. Left a few and had $11 in my account. Yeah - it was so much fun for a while!

i had not saved much of my 2000 posts! not all of those were important. but many were. i have done the cache-ing thing, but not all were cached. and, of course, i can't find everything. i'm still trying though. good to see you here

I asked them to delete my account a while ago. However Ryan was saving a post to his blog every day. He was pretty crushed to loose all that writing.
