Bubblews blew its last bubble

Some of the users here might know the place called Bubblews well just now my wife found out that the reason sh wasn't able to get on is because they shut the site down. They went out of business. She knew it would happen but she didn't think it would happen so suddenly. The crappy part of the whole thing is she not only was not able to reach the cash out point but she also just lost all the money she had earned. She is a bit bummed out because she had made plans with the funds that she worked so hard to get which she will now not see at all so she will have to figure something else out to compensate for the money she had planned to use. Its sad for those who used that site as a main source of income and well i wish people would see the importance of reporting people who you know are scamming the sites because everyone suffers in the end. So it with sadness that I share this with you because many people were making plans with that money for the holidays best wishes to all of the users who stayed to the bitter end with them.

I feel sorry for people who got scammed by that place three times (the "lost redemptions" with the site update in June-July 2014, the "we're not paying you if you redeemed before November 11 you are not getting paid, too bad so sad" fiasco that they announced about 6 PM on New Year's Eve [right when most people wouldn't see it], and now this). A Ponzi scheme of the first order. I hope people will contact the Better Business Bureau and ensure that their other scam site, Sweeble, gets shut down, too so this doesn't happen to other unsuspecting individuals.

I'm sure the sweeble or what ever its called will be shut down as well if it's not amnesty. I think it wasn't intentional the not paying people most of that was because they paid out so much money to people that they didn't actually have from so many great writers. But it doesn't really matter does it good honest people still lost hard earned money.

@lokisdad I think most people would have been more understanding if they had been upfront and honest about things. Instead, they punished everybody for what they claimed were the "cheats" instead of just punishing the "cheats."

@FourWalls I agree I left because of the nonpayment of one redemption which I wait for months before they told me i was so mad. Thing is I would have even understood if they said hey can you take a partial payment but that wasn't even an option and then I was reading others getting at least some of the earnings even if not all something is always better. Oh and when you would flag people they would take them back so what is the point of telling you aren't fixing the problem you slap them on the wrist with a warning or suspension.

It's terrible that they shut down suddenly without warning. I wonder if it's possible to get together for a class action suit to get the money that they owe us. At least when My Lot stopped paying a few years ago, they laid out what was owed to everybody first.

Yes, feeling sorry for many, like your wife, who had plans for the amount from bubblews..Thank God i didn't waste my time there since last November cos I knew it was all over there! It's so bad of them to abruptly close down without notice! Which is not a surprise when it come to Bubblews!

@lokisdad That is true. Christmas is coming soon. And I'm sure many had plans to use their Bubblews' earnings for Christmas.

@UmiNoor yes and its sad when this kind of things happen because it happens during special occasions and even though the holidays are not about the gifts nobody wants to be the one who gets gifts and didn't get anyone else anything not even a card.

the worst part was that it happened right around some of the most stressful holidays otherwise it probably wouldn't have been so bad.

No one should count on money made on those sites. It's only a hobby.

you are right but sometimes especially people who can't go out and work because of a handicap or transportation do and to them its the main source of income which is the people I feel really bad for.

@lokisdad you make a really good point. I have lupus, so I appreciate that. It isn't just the money though, it is sad to lose the relationships. Luckily, many are already here :).

I got scammed once or twice in the early days, but the rate of pay got so slow latterly that I was way off the payment threshold anyway when it went belly-up. Oh well - at least I have copies of most of my "bubbles" somewhere on my computer, so I'll have to see I can use them elsewhere!

We have made it a practice to save our work at least the ones that we think are valuable like the ones you write that you might actually do some research before submitting you know because they are a pain to redo. So since they closed I am guessing we can use the articles to post else where right?

Considering people had been waiting like 6 months to get payouts, it was probably safe to say that no one was going to receive a payout before Christmas, even if the site had stayed up and operating.

@moffittjc I don't think you were foolish per say I think you were like my wife and many others loyal and had faith nothing wrong with that its a good quality to have. If I had a huge company people like you is what I would want working for me people who would stand by me when things weren't great.

I think people had hope and believed that if they were patient things would pick up improve and they were going to be able to get their money eventually.

@lokisdad I was one of those misguided people who thought that! lol I figured if I just kept posting, and commenting on other people's sites, that eventually the activity would pick up again. Guess I was pretty foolish!

i had been a member at bubblews but I stopped going there when they changed the format, plus all the spamming going on. They also raised the cashout amount which I understood because people were greedy and posting stupid stuff , and tons of post a day to make money quicker, Which ruined it for people who were making real posts, plus interacting with other members, and not just thinking of thierselves. I'll tell you another site that is being rude and not paying out, nor have they shut down or let the members know what is going on. The site is paid2youtube. I am waiting on money from then.

I never heard of paid2youtube im guessing you get paid for the video submissions instead of writing. I don't like being on camera so it wouldn't be beneficial for me. The economy is in the toilet and between the scammers and that it is making it harder to find work online that pays anymore.

I doubt anyone can make a living on Bubblews after the rate decreased so much. I had about $5 there, so it is not a big matter to me. Over the long period with Bubblews, I had made about two thousand dollars. It is certainly good money.

My wife and I made good money from there and a few other sites. Between both of us blogging there and yahoo we were bringing in about an extra $800 a month.

They did a sick move with that they did this morning. I was on there commenting and stopped to get coffee. When I came back and refreshed the page the site was gone. Talk about pulling the plug. They has plan on doing this I am sure. But they just screwed everyone. Not a good move.

@lokisdad It was very strange that it happened like that. They should have done the right thing and posted or emailed everyone about it's demise. That way people would have been able to get their content out of there.

@inertia4 people don't always do what is best for others and it sucks. It's a shame but nothing much we can do now except learn for the future to save a copy of our own work in the event that another site goes under you have your articles.

That is true and is partly why I understood and didn't get as mad as many other people did. We have had our own set of failures in attempting to open a business.

I lost $48 on Bubblews, it has taken me almost a year to earn $16 and I had hoped that I would have reached redemption around Christmas and the fact that a few people had gotten paid before it shut gave me hope. I am annoyed more with myself though for all the time and effort I wasted for nothing.

It wasn't completely wasted people interacted with you and you may have taught someone something or helped someone with your writing. It does suck to lose money when you invest a lot of you time and effort/

The main problem is the people behind Bubblews have not been honest and until the end they did not play an honest game. Just imagine, they just shut down the site abruptly. They did not even give the users a time to save their posts. They cheated the users till the very end. It is not the spammers to be blamed, but Arvind and Jason.

they are both to blame you are right they could have given people a heads up but then I have not seen many jobs that do that its usually every man for himself when the ships are going down. Well at least we still have other places like this one that I am quite happy with being at for the moment. It's fun and buzzing with activity which is the one thing i like a lot .

It had been good while it lasted. It was just like what everybody said; it was too good to be true. They must have run out of money or they are running away with the money and starting something else. I heard they started an app called Sweeble.

It was a fun place for a while then it sucked the life out of you to be there and with them screwing people out of large amounts of money it made it unbearable to hang around with so many angry people who wouldn't do anything but trash the site in every post still trying to earn money.
