Help - K-cups aren't cheap

United States
November 16, 2015 10:57am CST
I buy the majority of my K-cups at the grocery store. I tend to try different brands as long as they are just coffee, no flavorings. I have looked at some of the so-called bargain priced places for K-cups but they don't seem very reasonable to me. I'm asking all K-cup users out there - where do you get the best price on your K-cups?

have you tried the ones you fill yourself? You can buy a set of 4 pretty cheap and have them prefilled. once done you just dump the grounds, rince them out, and then refill later. I keep the actual k-cups, or generic k-cups around too, but mostly we just fill our own with our favorite stuff. You can get the GOOD coffee this way and keep your price, and waste levels, down

I have one, that's for my husband. He only likes one kind of coffee and I want to try different kinds.

@AbbyGreenhill I gotcha, it is a good way to try various things, we have some of them, just tend to have tried most and started filling our own. try online maybe?

We buy coffee in the can and put the grounds into little cups that came with the machine instead of buying those cups. Messy but works and Mom the coffee drinker seems satisfied.

@sallypup I put mine in the trash and they usually wind up on the floor!

@AbbyGreenhill The worst part is digging out the used grounds and getting them into the compost container. Super easy to make a horrid mess.

We do not have a Keurig yet. Hubby wanted one last year but he has since changed his mind. I never notice the prices.

@AbbyGreenhill If we had one I am sure we would end up feeling the same way. Our church has one that they keep in the lobby and before going into preaching you can fix yourself a cup of coffee. It is a nice treat once in a while.

I wasn't 100 percent happy with it at first, but now I wouldn't trade it for any other coffee maker.

Can't help you here as I don't buy that stuff. I guess your best buy would be to buy them when they are on sale only.

The grocery store had a $8 pack on sale for $6 so that was a good buy. It doesn't happen all the time.

We do not use Keurig cups here. I buy coffee beans that I grind in the morning.

@AbbyGreenhill I have an electric one and I love the smell of grind coffee in the morning, it's even better than the coffee itself.

For the Keurig coffee maker. The little cups that hold the coffee grinds.
