Nope, have to be honest, it doesn't surprise me one little bit that Bubblews has gone. What does surprise me though is that it held on for so long...
What happened there on New Years Eve last year was totally shocking (especially they way they went about it). I really did think that was going to be it right there right then. How it managed to limp on for over 10 months from that point is really just testament to those who continued on with it.
Kudos to all of those who carried on with it...

I remember people saying that the site will not last long and now it is true. It was a rather good site, at least in the beginning before it underwent a drastic change and became the "new" Bubblews.
What happened there last New Years Eve? I have no idea. I must have not been active on the site at the time...

New years eve, they wrote off a load of money that they owed people. They sent out a mass email to everyone who had outstanding redemptions from Oct Nov and Dec, saying "we will not honour the payment." So people had written, seen their bank increase, redeemed numerous times and lost it all! Arvind blamed it all on the fact that they had payed too many plagarists and spammers.

It is my opinion that it could have recovered. I don't mean go par with facebook. I mean just as a website that payed people. It could if membership numbers were maintained. It didn't not because membership didn't try. It didn't because of the people that mis-managed it.

I have to say that it was rather late for it to be closed and I do hope that there will be some enforcement on the internet to protect people like us from these dishonest people. I really felt bad for those who had joined it through my recommendation, for they had not been paid one single time.

I was surprised with how long it lasted as well. Once again though they did things the wrong way. There should have been some kind of warning so everyone could get their work from there.

Can't fault the community for not trying. I knew the game was up as soon as they cut the payment rate and started blowing smoke our way. Gives us a lot to discuss for the next couple days though.
