The Last Trip!

2 weeks after ZJ was born hubby started a new job. The new job involves a LOT of travel. More than I was expecting. He's been gone different weeks (in the 15 weeks he's had the job). And when he's gone he's gone form 5am Sunday until night time on Thursday.
With a 4 month old, 2 dogs and a job of my own, needless to say I'm feeling the crunch. So I am SO happy that this is his LAST trip until after the new year.
6 glorious weeks of no travel until the end when he goes on another trip. But that one is VACATION with ZJ and I.
I'm so looking forward to being able to establish a bit of a routine and maybe get some help with the child-rearing duties for a bit.

I am sure he will be very happy to be home for an extended period of time as well. This will be ZJ's first Christmas so it's especially
great that he'll be there for everything leading up to it as well.

Is there a chance the travel will be reducing permanently? It is hard to manage as a single mom, and that is what you are doing, except you have his income.

it won't be reduced in the near future. They say up to 50% travel, so we'll have some reprieve here and there. But we can assume he'll travel 20-25 weeks a year :( Hopefully for a few years and then he can move to a position with less travel. I do sometimes feel like a single parent :(

All that travel must be tough on you with a baby and your other responsibilities but I am sure you will make the most of your six weeks together,

I always hated when my husband had to travel for work. When the twins were little he had to travel a lot for training. Now he just works a lot of hours.

when hubby is in town I'm fortunate that he has a pretty regular 8:30-5:30 job and doesn't have to work extended hours :)
