Smile!

November 17, 2015 7:05am CST
If you look on any social networking website for as little as a couple of minutes, as long as you have a some young women on your friend list, you will undoubtedly see a photo of one of them doing what is now commonly known as 'the Duck Face'. For two or three years now, the majority of young women have decided that whenever they take a photo of themselves, whether it's in a group or just on their own, they simply MUST pout/pucker their lips to a ridiculous extent. This is probably to give the impression that they have larger, fuller lips. But what they don't seem to realise is, it is in no way attractive to anyone other than Donald Duck. My question is...Who TOLD these girls that this looks good?! Whoever it was is a dirty liar. So here are a few reasons why you should be smiling instead of pouting... Smiling is the same the whole world over. Even if there are language barriers, a smile is a smile. End of story! Smiling is a natural anti-depressant. I have lost count of how many times it has made me feel better. Even if you are alone and smiling at no-one but yourself like a loon, it doesn't matter! When doing this, it can feel like you're almost trying to convince your face that you are happy when you're actually not but that's OK, just give it a go! Smiling is contagious and disarming. I was shopping in town yesterday and an elderly lady was walking in my direction. She looked nervous and was clutching her bag, as though she thought I might steal it. This happens quite often, probably because I'm young and my generation has a bad reputation. But I gave her a really big smile as I passed by and her whole face lit up in an instant. It's about making others feel good, as well as yourself! Finally, a smile is so much prettier than a pout! No matter how good you may think you look with giant lips, I can guarantee you look 100% better with a smile. So try one on, you beautiful people. It's only natural!

I don't know why they have to pull such awful faces. As you say, all you need is a smile.

I like to smile at people, whether I know them or not. It feels good for me and perhaps for them too.. It is a great gift we can give and doesn't cost anything..

I should smile more often then. Maybe that other Donald is the one telling people to pout.

Its essential. I have tried laughter therapy as well. I guess this therapy doesn't stand a chance against smiling as long as you can. So just keep smiling. You will have lots of people in love with you.

Excellent post! They look awful and bitter and an elderly woman would be right to clench her purse faced with Daffy lips. good grief. What's next dirty hair being a rage? A TRUE smile is felt as well as seen and is the Universal language.
