Some Background: A few years ago I started watches movies on Mondays because back then I had HBO for free and taped a lot of movies. Since then I kept up with watching movies on Mondays. I started a Mission Impossible marathon on Bubblews, but yesterday I had to watch The Maze Runner. I had listened to the audiobook over the weekend. I will write about the book and the differences between the book and movie tomorrow. The Maze Runner is based on the first book of the book series by James Dashner. It was made in 2014. The movie has Dylan O'Brien, Aml Ameen, Ki Hong Lee,Will Poulter, and Kaya Scodelario in it. Big Warning 1: Have tissues ready. Big Warning 2: there is some violence. The Maze Runner is about a boy who finds out he can remember anything. He learns that him and a bunch of other boys are trapped near a maze. He later remembers his name is Thomas. He helps the others find out way out of the maze. I did like the movie, but there was a lot of differences between the book and movie. I think I like the book better though.

I happened to watch maze runner by chance and liked the concept. The suspense of who they are and why they are in the maze kept me occupied till the end. I generally prefer reading books before the movie but alas I was unaware of them before watching the movie. I even followed up with the scorch trials last month. Would like to know the differences between the books and the movies.

On the contrary, I don't like this movie very much. I really looked forward to it but finally it was not as good as I expected. But my son likes this movie. Perhaps this is the generation gap Since I don't like The Maze Runner 1, I am not going to watch The Maze Runner 2.

I read the book but haven't seen the movie yet. I just finished reading book #2 Scorch Trials which was as good as the #1 book Maze Runner. Now I'm off to find #3

I liked this movie a lot. I thought it would be a dumb makes no sense teen movie but it was a pleasant surprise. I am waiting for the sequel to hit free TV.
