Organization versus profession

Teachers who love to teach but hate working in public schools. Policemen who love to serve and protect but hate working in the force. Professors who love to ruminate on the frontiers of knowledge but hate working in universities. Heard of these? Unfortunately, organizational interests often throw cold water on professional passion.

True. Some situations are like that. Even though they have the passion, they just could not work with an organization. The best way for this is to be a consultant. Like Sherlock Holmes who has passion for being a detective but hates to work on the task force, so he became a consulting detective, which best utilizes his work pattern and time. We should try what Sherlock did and be a consulting (--insert profession here--). Or better yet, maybe they are the people who can make it work if they start their own business related to their passion? Kudos~!

I knew a great teacher who decided that he just couldn't work for the local authority any more, as they made life so difficult for the staff
