Kayaking for the first time.

When my husband and I were in South East Asia recently, we signed up for a half day kayaking trip which included sea and river areas. I've never done this before, neither had he, so it was a bit of a learning curve. We listened to the guide, got into our kayak had a bit of a practice and then set off to see if we could get to the other side of the bay-type area without mishap. We were doing really well, we thought. Ten minutes later we hear "Wait! Hey, aussie, wait, wait please." We turned to look back, and there, behind us were 8 other kayaks, including the guide, trying to catch up to us. We were supposed to be part of a group, and we never knew. We thought it was just a 'do as you please' day, but no, it was a guided tour! Whoops. Language barriers!
After that, we stayed with the group. It was an interesting, but tiring day. 3 hours of almost non-stop kayaking, and just when we were most tired, at the end, we had to paddle the fastest to beat the tide.

@SIMPLYD We were staying in Krabi, Thailand, and the tour left from a little place that was about 20 minutes drive from Krabi. Krabi is the 'jumping off' point for some of Thailand's well known islands in the Andaman sea, such as Phi Phi island, and Koh Lanta.

@JadePlatypus This little craft are always difficult to get into I think. They rock and roll a lot. If I can't lean against something my back very soon starts to bother me so I probably won't tempt fate by going kayaking. It looks fun though.

It was a bit awkward getting in, but once in it was okay. Could be worse for those with lower back issues too.

You must have been carried away by the ride and left the others. Hope you enjoyed
