We are entitled to express our feelings

While everyone has the right to write what they like, those of us who are the 'readers' also have the right to express our feelings regarding those writings. It is a two-way street - that's why they call these writing 'discussions'.
Once you put it out there you better have big shoulders because you will get backlash. I have big shoulders, and this isn't my first rodeo.

People who do not like controversy need to avoid controversial subjects. Around here we are not a bunch of "yes" men. Or women. I do agree that you are free to disagree as you like.

I don't act or say differently here than I do in real life.

I agree. We are all different and will have different opinions. If there's a topic I don't like, I don't read it and move on. When I post a discussion, I do expect that there may some opinions different from my own, and that's alright. It's the way the world works.

@AbbyGreenhill that is very true. We are not forced to read and respond to every discussion. Like you said, it's easy to move on.

Yes, it's quite easy to move on since there is a lot here to pick from.

That is what I like about mylot, that we can express our feelings, whether right or wrong, and hpe that we aren't ridiculed for them. I blocked one user in here who felt that he was right and everyone else was wrong. That wasn't the worst of it. The worst of it was, I didn't mind that he didn't agree, I just didn't like the way he went about it. He was mean and vindictive, and just had a rotten demeanor. I will say though, that none of my discussions have had negative responses or comments, and I am happy about that too.

@AbbyGreenhill Well, I try to be, that is for sure. Even if they did give a negative comment, I would just take it in stride..

You are too happy to have any negative stuff about you or on your stuff.

As long as one follows guidelines the back lash as you call it is fine.. One can ofcourse just ignore and move on. We have choices.

When I first joined online writing sites I could not handle negative comments. So much so that I actually left MyLot for months because I was hurt by different things.
Now I understand that not everyone will like me or what I write and that is okay. I guess it's all part of growing and learning.

right now I could really blow off steam at someone, but I won't because I am a better person than that. If I talk about a discussion that I don't think was worthwhile and I don't mention the person's name there is nothing wrong with that. Others do the same.
Glad you came back to myLot.

Go get them. I think you are right. I did comment on something not long ago and the writer was angry with me for this one. I think he was so angry that my comment was deleted. I just basically said the truth and stated how I felt. Before he deleted my comment he did answer me back with a comment that I was some sort of an idiot and I didn't read his work. I said I knew perfectly what he wrote and I just felt if we were to have 50 discussion all based on different aspects of the same topic everyone should get together and make it into one.

@AbbyGreenhill Ouch I don't think this one will happen because there will always be a few in the crowd who don't want to agree with it.

You are right, so the writers has to be ready for whatever responses or comments that they will get. It all depends on the topic or discussion that they will make. I'm more on writing discussions though, so I'm always making sure that the topic would be interesting and more on the positive side.

Exactly and no one else not involved cannot tell anyone else not to comment - did that make sense?
