Right now my pet bunny Betty is stretched out next to me while I pet her, and it's so stinkin' cute it made me wonder what other happy animal memories people have. So whether it was with a bird, pig, cat, dog, or hamster, what animal memory makes you smile on the inside? One of my favorite animal memories is when I owned gerbils and bred my first litter! It was incredible seeing the little pinkies turn into little fuzzy balls of joy!

Kitties are wonderful for cuddles and cuteness haha :) That's great Otis gave you the support and love you needed to get through that hard time. Animals can be the best therapy!

When I was 14, I had two parrots!! And whenever I used to come back from school, they used to start squeaking!! And the most beautiful thing was that they used to accept food only from me!! Whenever my parents used to offer something, they used to turn their heads away, but the moment I used to offer something, they used to sprint forward in the cage and started eating

Aww, that's super awesome! I love being an animals "favorite" person. Too bad they didn't share the love with your parents ;) My stepmother had two parrots, and they would mimic everything from my dad yelling down the stairs for me to the beeping on the microwave! It was really freaky sometimes!

@Rationalwriter They were super sweet! However, I didn't get to interact with them much because they were in my stepmother's office which was "out of bounds" for kids. And for some reason my computer isn't showing the pic of the puppies (I can't see any pics on MyLot actually, if anyone knows a possible reason please let me know) but I'm sure they are super duper cute!! :)

We had a sheep which was very aggressive with boys. Young boys used to tease him and we saw many boys being hit by sheep. Memory of this sheep still makes me smile

I smile every time I remember when I saw for the first time my sweet sweet cat, Milù. She was 2 moths and she was arguing with her brother for a chips, under the table.

I had a wonderful dog for many years. Misty was a friend. I would never call her a pet. She must be at the dog heaven now.

If our Japanese toy poodle was still alive, I would say it would be my dog. He looks like a rug on the floor when he lays down on his stomach and he's so small and black and fluffy you wouldn't think he's a dog until he moves. Max, the dog, makes me smile every time I think of him because there was this one time my cousin had mistaken him for an underwear. lol

Bahaha, that's wonderful about the rug and underwear bits :) Hilarious. He sounds like he was a super cute pooch and got lots of love! (P.S. I also had a Cocker Spaniel named Max as my first dog)

My favorite memory is of my family dog when I was a kid and how he loved it when we would throw a ball down the stairs and how he would run and get it and want to play it over and over again. He was a black mid size poodle who was a very special pet.

That's wonderful! The energy dogs have is so infectious. Also, my mom had a black mini poodle in college! She said it was the best dog ever :)

When I was a child, I had a chicken (yes, a chicken). It's like a pet for me. It always followed me everywhere I went (as a child). It liked termites so much and I used to find termites for it on decaying wood.
