Emails to myself

I finally got around to searching Google for cached copies of some of my bubble posts that disappeared with the now defunct Bubblews. A good number of them are cached. I found about three so far that I decided to save because they are themes I might one day write about again and this will give me a jumping off point. I don't think I would re-publish anything exactly as written. But I am too lazy and tire tonight to open Google drive and save them all as documents in a special folder, etc. So I am just emailing them to myself with the title Bubble in the subject line. Then later on, I can just search my email for everything called Bubble and look them over. If you didn't delete and save all your bubbles, and you are hoping to find some of them again, go search Google for them. The easiest way is to put this in the search box: site:bubblews.com "your name" Some of them may not be cached, in which case they are gone. But you may be surprised by what you find if you try. Have you tried searching for your old bubble posts? did you already save them? or are you moving on both site-wise and emotionally?

been fishing for mine - seems odd that some are entirely gone while others are archived - seems rather random

It does, and I can't find a rhyme or reason for why some were archived - they don't appear more worthy or anything.

@Rollo1 just glad some are still accessible for salvage and posterity

@Rollo1 That might be the right thing to do is see how many you can save.

It's work to go through them, but it could be rewarding.

I had left some posts on the site, nothing really meaningful to me. But I recently found one of my posts on pinterest, it bothered me.

@Juliaacv If someone pinned it and there's a link to the post, then you shouldn't be unhappy because it means more traffic to you post and in turn, more earnings from views. But now, of course, it won't lead anywhere.

I'm having a little trouble getting mine to come up. Maybe it's just because I'm not awake yet so I will try again a little later.

@AnjaP I am also having a problem getting to my posts. I can pull up the posts on the search engine but can't get to the actual post. I will try again later. Thanks.

i'd already copies 'f schtuff from o'er a year from there saved in my word doc's with the url's fer each. i jest need to see if'n i can de-index 'em now that 'other place' is defunct. nah, not to use elsewhere without major o'erhauls. more so jest the fact that they're mine 'n i wish 'em gone.

Yes, they are yours and you want to see them disappear. What you do with them is up to you, they are your words.

I'm currently saving them to my document folder on my computer. At a later date, I'll figure out which cloud I'd want them saved in. I could probably save them on evernote just as easily and there it would also show five of my other posts down on the lower right side. That's been helpful too as I've been able to get more specific in some of my searches. @betsuz is the one suggested that to me and others on a recent post she wrote after reading mine.

I am too lazy to save them to a file. It's just easier to copy them into an email for now. I may not even want them later, but everyone has their own methods and should do what works.

I am basiclly just moving on. I may go search however, out of curiousity. I have done that in the past to see what comes up.

I can understand that. Not everything is something you want to save, but it's fun to go back and read what you wrote in the past.

I was so angry that they did not even put up a warning or anything but at the same time it did not surprise me that they did that though. So many posts I did where they are now gone. I may have to see about your method though.

I think i've moved on. I won't be able to repost them anyway so it's fine with me if they just go away with Bubblews.

I think I found some when it was still up. I may search now and see if any are still floating around somewhere in this big internet world.

Yep. I found mine. The cached copies were easy to find. It's really too bad Bubblews went down. It's real easy to find stuff in the search results. Obviously the owners figured out a way to get the SEO god to love them.

I send emails to myself all the time. In fact, I start my progress notes at home and send them to myself at work, where I cut and paste to the proper forms. I haven't bothered to search for my missing Bubblews posts. In fact, many (Like osts about poison oak, manzanita trees, etc.), I can recreate pretty quickly. My latest post is about the little tree I make at Christmas. I think I did a similar post last year at "that other site." But this "fresh" one only took about three minutes to write. The hardest part was finding my picture of some of the trees from last year.

Thanks for this info. I think I have all my posts saved in Word. If you want to delete them from the 'cache' and use them elsewhere, is there a way to delete them?

I'm struggling to find many of mine but I will keep trying, I have made a new notebook in one note which I am saving them too, instead of having to save them all individually x
