Have you ever slept through your alarm?

The alarm, what we love to hate, and hate to love, failed me this morning....or I failed it. See, I am not a morning person. Yet I work a 6 am shift. This morning I slept right though my alarm. I only work up to my backup alarm. I don't use an actual alarm clock. I don't trust one's that plug in, what if the power went out. And why by a battery powered one when I have a perfectly good cell phone with alarms (I do however plug it in at night to top off the charge).
I set two alarms so if I get busy, or doze off getting ready (sitting down to put on shoes, and zzzzz, totally done that before), I have a warning to get moving. That last alarm should be me walking out the door. I will arrive at work 15 -30 min early, depending on red lights, if I am moving around the time of that alarm.
This morning that alarm woke me up. I don't remember hitting snooze. I don't remember turning off the first one....
I am so blasted groggy. Have my caffeine, remembered both pants and matching shoes....forgot breakfast, had no time to get any as I had to fly low to get here on time....
Have you ever slept through your alarm?

I can't remember the last time I set one. Even when I worked I never set the alarm. I'm up with the chickens every day.

Oh that is funny as she doesn't want you to go back to sleep so she feels if she barks you will stay awake with her.

@Susan2015 hubby has to carry them outside sometimes, cause if I am home, I have to be the one that takes them out.

@Jessicalynnt,I don't need an alarm to wake up at 5 in the morning no matter I went to bed the previous night.I get up just around 5 and begin preparing.

@Jessicalynnt It's great that people are able to use their cell phones to carry on MyLotting. It seems these phones can do anything these days.

I nearly always sleep thru the alarm unless it has a very loud ring like the old telephone rings and at full volume. The phone I have now is better, with a really loud mambo song so I can wake up with it most times, tho not always.
I am slightly hard of hearing in my left ear. If I am sleeping on my right ear when the alarm goes off, there is a good possibility I will sleep right through it.
Ironically, the little bleeps from a text arriving wakes me nearly every time to my dismay when someone texts me early in the morning.

@Jessicalynnt Lol..perhaps. Fortunately, I am retired so I do not have to set it very often and it is not a primary concern since I rarely have to be anywhere at a certain time. Usually, I only set it now if I want to get to the store early or some such nonsense.

No, I haven't slept through an alarm in a lot time as now I just wake up at the same time just about every morning. I have a radio alarm clock but have yet to use it also I have never needed to use the alarm on my cell phone. Guess I'm just lucky since I am now retired.

It definitely will be easier to get up in the morning when you are retired.

And yet another reason I love retirement, I never set alarms clocks but now I'm up right on Q, 5am and have to coax myself to go back to sleep cuz I really don't need to be up that early, even Ally isn't awake that early now, it's too dark out for her too.

Well, one bit of advice, take really good care of your health @Jessicalynnt then retirement will be exactly what you'd really want.

That's happened to me a few times when I was working. Now that I'm retired it doesn't matter much if I set the alarm or not
