Inside the international criminal mastermind the Hamburgler is one of my boys. At least in our town he's the one who gets to wear the costume. I was too big and I don't think bare male middle age midriff does anything for restaurant promotion.
He had a lot of fun posing with people for photos and goofing around. He found it a little tiring in that the head of the costume was heavy. They had to lead him around because the view from the inside is rather limited. Can't have him accidentally bowling over little kids in the lobby.
He hasn't decided whether to start writing again on MyLot but his old posts can be found under @Jollygoodwot Same user name he used on Bubblews.

It's funny that so many of the workers his age and size had no desire at all to wear the costume. Brandon was more like I would have been. Hey no one outside of the staff knows it's you until this post. He saw it as an opportunity to have a little fun.

@koopharper The world needs a little fun. Good on him for supplying it.

He only wore it during the peak lunchtime hours. After that we needed him back in the kitchen. It was a good change of pace for him though.

@koopharper Sounds good to me. What you own a hamburger joint and your family works there. That is excellent. I know in the US they eat a lot of hamburgers or so I am told. but the few years I was there I did see a lot of people eating them. I never really got into them much. I think the last time I did eat one was like 5 years ago. Wow that is a long time.

My son also dresses as a mascot and will do so next weekend for the holiday parade. He is the mascot of hubby's company. Of course he does this voluntarily. He has a regular job at a coffee/donut shop.

@koopharper My son thinks it's a lot of fun. He gets to act goofy and nobody knows that it's him. He volunteered for a carnival the marching band threw back in May as a fundraiser. A lot of his friends were there and he messed with them.. until they found out it was him. Everyone got a big kick out of it. Then he did it again in the Memorial Day parade.

@katsmeow1213 That's exactly Brandon's attitude. Here's another shot of him fully dressed. (I'm still getting the hang of adding photos).

Yeah, this was completely voluntary. There weren't that many staff member willing to do it though.

Sounds like a very fun guy to be with.
I am sure 50 years later, his grandsons will have a good time teasing him, and showing his photos to their friends.
Some young people never think about the future when they decide to get into bad habits.
In the end, after many years, they are terrified that their children and grandchildren will find out about their bad deeds.

All my kids are blessed with (or cursed with) a sense of humour similar to my own. The photos of him in the costume impressed management so much that they've been shared nationwide throughout Canada. Way to go Brandon.

I would have done it in a heartbeat but even if I fit in the costume I doubt they would've had me do it. Brandon is about six feet tall and I'm six five. I would have scared all the little kids not just some of them. I also probably would have taken out at least one of the overhead monitors on my way to the lobby.

@koopharper You sound like my friend Dan. He's 6 foot 4 and a half and the spitting image of the bad guy in the Minion's film.

@boiboing I look an awful lot like the young man in the picture just bigger. Brandon's twin brother also works there but wasn't scheduled Friday.

I will very slowly tactfully try to convince him to spend some time here.

Have to take those opportunities when they come. I think management was happy that he so willing jumped into it.

Another missing Bubblews connection. Glad to see you here. Right now he is focusing on other opportunities besides he was never big into writing like some of my other kids. Never know though. He might pick it back up.

I should imagine some of these sorts of costumes are very heavy - and very hot.

Apparently it tires your neck out after awhile. He might have another go tomorrow though and he is enthusiastic about it.
