Is GOD real or an illusion. This thing never came to my mind till yesterday. All these years I had a strong faith in GOD and accepted it to be real, till my 25 year old nephew, Siddharth ,said that what ever we achieve in life is only 10% GOD and 90% hard work. That set me thinking. Todays young generation which is much more aware, informed and more connected than we were say 15 years ago have very different views about life and GOD. Due to skills they learn in college and start getting huge salaries they feel they can do anything they want as they are more sure about themselves. They question the importance or existence of GOD. Do prayers have any meaning? I tried explaining to Siddharth that what ever is happening there is a reason why it is happening and it is happening only for our good. There is some higher power which is very strong and very positive taking care of all of us. But all along he insisted that it is the individual persons hard work and intelligence which is responsible for the growth of that person. In my opinion a person who meditates is not only doing it for spiritual reason but there are many more benefits of mediation like clarity of thought and the wisdom to get the right direction and solutions. And if you continue on this path of meditation you get connected to your soul and your source. In my last article I had given the example of riding the bicycle. When you ride a bicycle that is a experience, how it is done cannot be explained. Like wise knowing GOD is an experience it cannot be proven or explained. To learn swimming we have to dive in water experience water, go down in water and learn swimming. We cannot learn swimming by reading about swimming. In my opinion GOD or higher power or what ever you call it, is an experience, it cannot be explained. Once you experience it through mediation or any incident in life you cannot question its existence. This experience can only come as you grow in life ,mature up, start admiring your life and surroundings and paying more gratitude for every small thing. After yesterdays interaction with my nephew I can only say that what ever he is saying is GODs wish and will. GOD can only do good to us. Probably this interaction has set me thinking,hence, this article. Waiting for inputs from my friends all around the world. Love you all. Be happy
