An Ungrateful Heart.

. I came across this story and I loved so I want to share it here .I hope you all like it ---------- Once there was a King who asked a lowly beggar, "What can I do for you?" And the beggar told the King that he cannot give what he wanted. The emperor was furious and ordered his men to get his gold coins. But a strange thing happened. When he placed them into the bowl, they were swallowed up. The King ordered more of his precious gold and silver and his jewels but still the bowl kept on swallowing it, seemingly like a bottomless pit. The bowl always remained empty. After many hours, the King started to feel desperate and frustrated and knelt in front of the beggar and pleaded, "Pray tell me, what is this bowl made of ?" The beggar answered quietly, "An ungrateful heart." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anything we do with all our good intentions for people who are made of ungrateful hearts will do nothing for them. In some cases, these people will abuse you in the end, not because you haven't done enough to satisfy them, but because they are made of ungrateful hearts. In the last decade of my life, I have come to know my own heart. I am grateful for the painful experiences because I came out of it very much spiritually whole indeed. I have come to understand that I could never create wholesome memories with people who were parts of the saddest memories. I am so grateful indeed that they nor their memories are no longer a part of my present and my future. Life is wonderful now. I am very grateful. Bess .

Anything we do with all our good intentions for people who are made of ungrateful hearts will do nothing for them. My take - Those who do things with good intentions for others, do not care much about how their intentions are received. As for being grateful, of course, I have learned that lesson from life. The best part of it is that life becomes simpler and more fun or enjoyable once you start realizing the goodness around and feel grateful

@thesids ..if we give people money to pay for their education and they use the money for something else like gambling, then we should care about the way they abuse our good intention.. And yes indeed. .gratitude attracts joy, peace and happiness ..more to feel grateful for..

@epiffanie .if we give people money to pay for their education and they use the money for something else like gambling, then we should care about the way they abuse our good intention.. Exactly. But, in case I know that my money can be misued by the student, I would rather deposit it in their school/place of ecudation as the fee. With good intention, you should also have the right approach to help anyone.

That's indeed a very wonderful story . Indeed you are now better off without those ungrateful people in your life . I also have my share of ungrateful people , but i learned to forgive and distance myself from them .

It is possible for one person to be entirely grateful, and another entirely ungrateful? It just doesn't make sense to me. But I've known some people who appear to have ungrateful hearts.

Great story and lesson to be learned. I have always liked these kind of folk tales.
