I must be doing something right at myLot!

I still remember when I joined the other site and I knew nobody, I was so grateful to the few who were kind enough to follow me. Let's help the newbies.

It really gives one a warm feeling when people thank you for welcoming them. I, too, like to try to put people on the right track and am often thanked for giving them a good start. It is sometimes rather disappointing to see people come here and make a first post clearly without even bothering to try to find out what the site is about and how it works. Presumably, they have been told by friends or found it mentioned somewhere that MyLot 'pays you to post' so that is what they try to do, even if they have so little English that they are incapable of reading more about the site! I think that every site has its fair share of this kind of new member. A few of them do stay and become good, regular members and you can almost never tell, at first, which of them will, so it's always worth welcoming them as warmly as possible and pointing them in the direction of the essential information so that they have a chance, at least, of making a go of it here.

Deff, both new users and posts with no response, those are discouraging too!

It's good to make new members feel welcome. I was thankful for the responses to my "Hello, I am new here" post.

When a new user joins he do need motivation and affirmation that he is at right place, so you doing good job

Thats wonderful ! I normally respond to at least one or two discussions started by new members or the ones that have no responses ...I agree , as a new member you are not sure of yourself nor the site. so helpful members really can help at that stage ..

Newbies are the lotters of tomorrow. Lets all give them a go.

The moment I get a notification that someone has followed me I immediately follow them without even looking at their profile and this is my way to welcome them.

I am trying to reach out to everyone. I know it must be discouraging for new members not to see any responses so I try hard to give them all some love, as many as time permits anyway. I know when I first joined here it made me feel nice to have some responses. Everyone treated me so nice. It seems there is not a lot of posting happening today though.

That is nice to hear. I am glad you were recognized like that.

I appreciate your kindness in knowing we all have a learning curve when we do something new.

I am also a newbie here, I just registered a few days ago.

I know how you feel. Ialways feel thankful and proud when I find new people following me.

@AbbyGreenhill,You are doing a great job.I too visit posts by new users almost everyday.Most of them need help from us who are experienced members of the site.

I do as much as I can in that department.

You're right - we were all newbies once, and the least we can do is to welcome them.
