We recently moved about a month ago to an apartment that has 7 floors. One nice thing we are learning so far about the place is based on the idea that heat rises.
We have not really had to run our heat until last night because of the fact that around 6 floors under us are running heat.
Although now that winter has come with the four letter word known as "snow" we had to run it some last night.
At least in either case heat is included in the rent so we don't have to worry about heat bills.

I love when the neighbors heat heats the upstairs. I have hung heavy cotton (looks like velvet) drapes (one on top to prevent cold air and one long one on the bottom) on two tension rods between the hall and bedroom and heat a smaller area. Hope you have a nice view!

I was told our new place is hard to keep warm, but like you, I use good drapes and it seems just fine.

I would wonder how it is going to be for cooling in the summer, but then again, you probably will get a good breeze with the windows open.
