Missing Cat - Miracle!!! She's back!

On 7th October, my neighbour's daughter came to ask if I'd seen their cat. I hadn't - for a few days.
She went missing.
Happily - today - she reappeared!!! She's put on a heck of a lot of weight, but I recognised her instantly. I wonder if kittens are on the cards!
Here's what I diarised on the day she went missing;
Missing
Aw. Little thing.
I've never had a pet of my own. I grew up in a small rented flat, with a very young single Mum. This was back in the day that she was grateful to still have a roof over her head post baby; bringing a pet into the house would not have been allowed.
Once I flew the nest, I soon settled with an anti-pet person. Plus, over the years I have realised that I am allergic to cats. I adore pooches, but I have a recurring nightmare that I do have one, and forget about it, so it gets really poorly and dies.
I've never had a pet of my own. I love animals.
Anyway - missing.
Around a year ago, a cat started to greet me every night when I can home from work. I'd always talk to her. I'd call her 'Naughty', as she'd get so keen to see me she'd nearly run under my wheels as I parked my car! She didn't have a collar, so I wasn't sure who looked after her. I didn't stroke her, but she stroked herself against my legs.
I soon became smitten with little 'Naughty'. I think she was a girl. I added cat treats to my weekly shopping list.
The photo is one of her, outside my front door. Patiently awaiting a tiny treat.
A couple of weeks ago a little girl knocked on my door, to ask if I'd seen her cat. What with uni and everything, I just thought we'd missed each other, as I have been out of my routine. Plus, a new lady recently moved in over the road, and I saw that Naughty would sometimes go to visit her after me (for more treats, I'll wager!). I thought that perhaps Naughty had given up on me.
Now, it seems, she is missing.
I told the little girl that I hadn't seen her for a while, but I'd let her know next time I see her.
I haven't seen her.

Yes! Me too! She ran straight to me and into my house. If only cats could speak!

I do hope that girl finds her cat soon. I'd worry about it being run over.

I know - that's what I feared. Happily, she reappeared yesterday after a good few weeks away. She gave us all a fright. Naughty by name, naughty by nature!!!
